You're welcome! :laugh::tongue:
What a shame I can't join you guys these days. Really miss the pain!

Was involved in round 3 of the local road race series tonight. Came 6th! :wahhey:
Great result Rick

Its the Bkool league's which has given us(the collective) improved fitness.

I have just knocked 25 seconds off my PB on my local club 10TT, so my newly found fitness has transfered to the road.

Also I have had a fish supper

Awesome, well done mate - will be good to see you back in the races some time ( maybe later in the year when the weather takes a turn for the worse?). Doesn't sound like you'll be any slower that's for sure!

But if you are I'm sure you'll soon get your fitness back with an intensive bkool training programme

Sorry not to give you more competition - but that was all I had!!

Well, bkool says it was 94% effort but I beg to differ!

One of the turning points was 13.3 km where within 200m you slowed to 11.6 kph whereas I blue numbered (without intent) from 13.3 km and did not drop to a similar speed until 14.1 km in which time I caught and passed you with no real effort other than the charge into the climb.
Another realistic BKool feature.

Hard to know how it'll translate back to Bkool! Certainly I've built a bit more endurance and bkool has definitely given me an edge over some in the real world as I'm more used to changes in pace than most. Still need to build some more strength to get the watts/kg up a bit for the long hills but that'll come with time. Season ends in Sept so I'll be back to virtual racing then :okay:

AAAC mentions blue numbers on the climbs. I don't recall seeing any with the update regardless of power. But I did notice speed decreasing quickly, more so than in real life, when descending and easing off on power, otherwise known as taking a breather:smile:

I got one of those fans from cpc. I went for the 18" model and it does shift a lot of air compared to the feeble desk fan I have been using. The lowest setting is about the same as the desk fans highest setting. It's not quiet but at least it will drown out my gasping.

Please take into account that I am stuck on quite an old trainer firmware now.

Happy to hear what others say.

Was I not shelling out a tidy sum to sort out my car and another to pay for the Holiday of my wife's choice I would have bought a new trainer by now.

Well if a newer trainer and updated software will slow you down a bit, I'm sure a few of us will chip in to help with the expense!! If it'll make you faster, you're right - waste of money ;)

I switched mine on today to check out my gear adjustment but wasn't offered the firmware update this time. I expected to get the chance to update it more than just the once.

There will never be any slowing down AAAC but I will mess with his mojo by screwing up his drafting:okay:^_^

What was the stated reason for this latest trainer 'update'?
I didn't see any detailed explanation - was in a bit of a rush so just clicked "yes" and it did it's thing. It was a firmware update rather than a software update - I assume there's a difference?

My observations - seemed faster /easier on the flat - particularly in the velodrome when warming up (less noticeable on the race). In the velodrome the speed went blue without any real effort and just stayed blue!

Speed went blue and stayed blue on the steeper climbs BUT this seemed to mean nothing - as soon as I reduced my efforts at all, the speed dropped instantly despite being blue.

Previously, if I powered hard into a climb I could back off and the speed would go blue on the ascent and reduce slowly ( slingshot?). This no longer works at all - as soon as I backed off on any incline my speed dropped like a stone instantly - much more realistically too!
