Didn't realise I was so close to your time @CXRAndy ... but even if I did know, I gave it everything I had; there was nothing left in the tank at the end. I was going to roll in, until @rob01792 wrote that he was going to give it another go .... had to expend the last of my energy to make his chase that little bit harderSqueaky bum moment![]()
I was encouraging Whorty to beat Bazzer`s time as he was so close on average. Whorty nearly went on to beat my timebut didnt

@BILL S I've just had another go at stage 4 because my original attempt was post-firmware update but pre-software update (which we didn't know was on its way at the time!), and as a result I was getting extra speed on the flat. My time was nearly 4 minutes slower at 49.30 which proves the point!
So I don't know if you can delete my quicker time from the league and just leave today's time there instead as that would be fairest? Cheers.
That saw tooth could be interesting now, post update. I'm going to have to try and do this with the rest on Thursday so I can work with my Team White mates to get us through that nasty little ride!Paul, don't worry about that. I also did my quickest time pre update, then I was way slower on my second go, post update, about the same amount slower than yours. So no need to be changing any times IMO as it's all fair just as it stands. Looking forward to stage 6 with the saw tooth profile. NOT!
Funny, both me and Bill suffered that same drastic drop in speed to single digits at some point in that ride. I thought at the time it was because I went into the hill too fast but I'd be interested to know if it happened to us all at the same point!@BILL S - moved the trainer close to the PC and plugged the Dongle in direct to the USB as you suggested. Firmware now updated. Did the software update too.
Some difference in how it operates now!! Slingshots are no more - though I did suffer on 3 occasions from some sort of drastic airbrake where my speed dropped to single digits in an instant!Overall far more realistic and I'm pedalling more like I would in the real world now (which just highlights my weaknesses even more!
)
Just did stage 5 there now and was well and truly whupped by AAAC, Bill, LB and Bridgey. Looking at the league table the Watts/kg all seem to be more realistic for the given placings in the table. Looks like a big thumbs up to the latest Bkool update
......and no, real life cycling and racing does not significantly help you on Bkool --- but Bkool does seem to help for real life racing!![]()

Ah ok Bill - losing track of when all these updates were done!Paul, don't worry about that. So no need to be changing any times IMO as it's all fair just as it stands. Looking forward to stage 6 with the saw tooth profile. NOT!
And good point about the watts in the league table - never used to look as consistent as that.@BILL S - moved the trainer close to the PC and plugged the Dongle in direct to the USB as you suggested. Firmware now updated. Did the software update too.

Thanks @rob01792 , @CXRAndy , @theboxers for the encouragement. Really helped![]()
Cheers Rob. I just felt so much stronger today for some reason. I am spent now though and about to head to bed for an early night!Well i had another go and not a chance i was leading by about 40 sec until 16 miles in then u just pulled away strong finish there Whorty well done
That worked. Deceleration up is the same as aceleration down and it's 9.81xsin(slope angle)m/s
Sin 14 degrees is 0.242 so on a 14 degree slope you will slow down at a rate of 2.374 m/s/s or roughly 5 mph per second which, if I have got it right, when you hit 14 percent at 30mph without pedaling it will take you on!y 6 seconds to stop.
That sounds a bit quick so I wait to be corrected.
This the point at which your entry forces meet equilibrium in the all your kinetic energy has been transferred to positional energy so this is also the same time that you would slow to your climbing speed if your power remains constant.
I think I will stop there because my brain hurts.
Rick, you bugger! 1m 19s faster than me. I almost feel like giving it another go. But I won't...![]()
When I picked it I thought it would be a full on slingshot session. Now it's a completely different challenge..... and much more difficult. have fun everyone! That saw tooth could be interesting now, post update. I'm going to have to try and do this with the rest on Thursday so I can work with my Team White mates to get us through that nasty little ride!
Seemed to happen me when I gunned it coming into climbs. Bkool appeared to punish any attempts at slingshots by stripping my speed in an instant.Funny, both me and Bill suffered that same drastic drop in speed to single digits at some point in that ride. I thought at the time it was because I went into the hill too fast but I'd be interested to know if it happened to us all at the same point!
