Well I had a pop at stage 1 of the new chaingang league tonight as I don't know if I'll make it tomorrow (getting organised for leaving for a weekend of mountain biking at Bike Park Wales and Afan early Friday morning :wahhey:)

All I will say is it's not quite as straightforward as it seems on paper! Not all the up is up and not all the down is down. Make sure your gears are in good working order as you'll be using the a lot, and those with the new updates prepare yourselves mentally for those sudden crashes in speed - I had quite a few of them! Enjoy!
Jeebus, I thought I did really well all things considered with a 56 :training:. But 40, :notworthy:.

Enjoy your mountain biking

Oh goody, you're back, just in time for stage one of the july league . Don't believe the profile .

The second half is almost as bad as the first. The new fw/sw may catch a few out on the back side of that lump . I had to work almost as hard going downhill as I did going up . It is an undulating climb with some quite steep transitions :surrender:.
Have you lost your superpowers @theboxers ? I thought this style of course would have let you produce a good time?

The 3 weeks in Melbourne in May did for me. I get my fitness back then work takes me away again! Hopefully last big trip for work this year - everything else should be Europe only, so back at weekends. One of the reasons for booking the DD ..... force me to get back on the bike when I get back home.

Bridgy, that sound like a grand weekend.

I am off to France for the grande depart Friday and hopefully a lot of cycling. I have today upgraded to speedplay pedals and new mid range specialised shoes. Wow. Just wow. Need to get speed plays on the turbo bike now.

Whorty, find yourself a gym where you are going. 4 weeks is a long time mate.

The slingshot is still there but I need a run up to get it going. It also only really works on >10% climbs for me, most of these are 3-6%. The area where I suffer most . Enjoy your attempt at this .

2 weeks in France is holiday - camping so no gym. We're hoping to catch stage 4 of Le Tour :hyper:

I do try and get into a hotel with gym when away with work, but working 12+ hours a day I'm often too knackered to get into it. Will try harder this time!

These shoes

I could always feel my spd pedals through my commuter shoes or the fibre soled shimano ro87's I used on the turbo. I cannot feel the speedplays at all. It takes some getting used to in terms of clipping in- and out. And the specialised are a better fit- and hopefully will break in nicely- than any shoe I have had or tried on. I can wiggle my toes! My freakishly flat bunion feat are well supported and comfortable. I put my 87's on after trying the spec's and I could not believe how much I had gotten used to their cramped fit.

Aww darn! I thought all the rides I picked were fairly smooth. Hopefully the others are better.

I should be there tomorrow night. Be my only ride in the July league due to hols and work commitments, so I better make it count! If you and @rob01792 want a domestic to help pace you up the hill then I'm happy to do that, then you can leave me for dead on the descent
You really have'nt noticed me before have you ! unless this new update has changed things its me who gets left waaaayyy behind going downhill - i come down like a dandelion seed in the wind - eventually - thanks for the offer but i think you would get bored waiting for me
