Tonight's Handicap Chase is a special Handicap Climb with adjusted rider weights to equalize Watts/Kg

Session is password protected, password is chase (type h twice if help screen appears)

Course is The Shelf

I will start the warm-up close to 8:00pm BST (UTC+1) to ensure the race starts around 8:10pm BST (UTC+1).

Everyone taking part should adjust their weight to the allocated value before entering the warm up, preferably with at least 5 minutes to go.

Weights are generally reduced, in some cases considerably, to achieve the target Watts/Kg, so speeds should be higher than usual. The main part of the session should not take more than around 20 minutes, and in any case less than 30 minutes, to avoid changing Fitness Levels. Anyone taking longer than 30 minutes would be advised to discard their session without saving.

The Start (for everyone) should be between 8:05 and 8:10, when the warm-up ends.

Once underway, there is a short neutralized zone (0.15 miles or 0.24 km) to avoid taking advantage of the lowered resistance at start, where no-one is allowed to overtake @JLaw (or if he is not present, you must gradually increase speed to a maximum of 20 mph (32 kph) until you pass the 0.15 (0.24 km) point.

If anyone else wants to take part, please can you let us know here and we can work out a weight Handicap from your FTP power value or similar.

Last time you did this course, you did win by 1.5 minutes, hopefully it'll be a bit closer this time!
Well it's not my fault everyone else wasn't trying that time! ;)

Of course, I would never really question the wisdom of your genius handicap calculator Geoff

As it happens, I doubt I'll make it tonight unfortunately due to other commitments - absolutely nothing to do with the extra 20kgs added to my handicap weight I can assure you ^_^

Na I'm out of action tonight :boxing::B) :surrender:. The osteopath did a number on me this morning and I'm really sore :cursing:.

I may drop in to spectate and encourage my fellow lunatics:whistle:, but taking part is a definite no no. Heat and more heat is the order of the day at the moment :banghead:. Plus some stretching if I can tolerate it .

I hope I can get back on on wednesday .

I think I may need a bit more weight. Last time my power was from my BePro pedals and they are a bit more realistic than Bkool. I currently have my BePro's on my race bike which I don't use for Bkool'n. I think I will try the weight I was supposed to use last time: 71.5 kg

I used your power from last time up Cheddar, which does seem low for you!

If I use your FTP power of 334.71 Watts you should ride at 76.5 Kg...

Ok ,I'll try 76.5 kg.
Hmm, where did you get that value? My current FTP in Bkool is a totally wacko 435 watt.

That's mainly due to Bill's problems producing power in the Weight Handicap climbs. His last run at The Shelf was 281 Watts average.

Your down as 304 Watts average from your last run, which was Chapel Fell.

Geoff

ok, you the master Geoff^_^
actually, given bkools vagaries at the moment i am going to leave my weight unchanged at 73.5kilos. 3 kilos cannot make that much difference eh??

It does make it tricky to compare power figures produced by different people, on different dates, on different rides, on different versions of the firmware and software! :banghead:
