Here is Bill's ride
Note how his speed drops of on the 11% to about 11kph
http://www.bkool.com/bkoolSessionHistory/showSessionSummary/2917828

Now here is mine
With literally no effort at all my speed takes 0.7 km to drop off to 11 kph ish, in fact I let my avatar stop and then started again

That is a massive difference AAAC. Almost not worth us racing on a hill like that. You'll be getting your pro one of these days though, then it'll be a much more interesting race. The Chaingang rides are a good race though so they must have that s/w f/w programmed very similar on all the bkool units. Eventually in the dim and distant future we can hopefully ride some more interesting races when bkool get their act together.

edit: s/w f/w programmed very similar for the flat steady gradients I meant.

That is some advantage there AAAC

Having just come from my kickr, which felt like hard work trying to keep up with others. Now onto a Pro unit, which initially felt ever so slightly easier, but almost matched the kickr in speed/power Then after the firmware update to 3.10. I now have extra speed and are able to hold a bigger power number on the flat(velodrome).

Speed is about 2.5mph faster, power is up 45Watts, and it feels a bit easier to sustain.

Only plus side is virtually everyone is on the same setup

Hi Guys

I have had a Bkool trainer for a few weeks now, upgrade from a tacX turbo
I love it but there doesn't seem to be a lot of people to race with. I am back in training for the next ironman so anyone to race with would be a great way to push on.
Any chance I could join you guys or your league or is it just because you all know each other?
Give me a shout if I can join up.
I am Active 2 on the bike and amateur 8 on running.

Cheers,

Joining Groups

There have been several questions about what groups/leagues we currently have. These groups are to encourage social interaction on this forum, and so are restricted to people who are active on this forum! Use the links below to request to join. Then please post your bkool name in the Joining a riding group on Bkool thread to let us know who you are: https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/joining-a-riding-group-on-bkool.190255/

Currently active Bkool "Cyclechat" groups

Chaingang - Weekly Thurs evening rides, starts @7pm, repeat on Sat @5pm
Aimed at getting a large group riding (in 3D) at the same time (rides can be done at other times if you can't make the group rides). Mixed terrain to suit a wide range of abilities and there is generally someone of similar ability to race/ride with. Drafting is encouraged!

Handicap Chase - Weekly Tues evening rides, start @8pm.
Staggered Starts based on a Handicap from previous performances. You need to obtain a Handicap before each session. These are designed to make the finish as close as possible, to give everyone a chance of glory.
http://www.bkool.com/group/show/136405

Mountain Goats - aimed at people who like long steep alpine climbs
http://www.bkool.com/group/show/75682

Mountain Moose - Longish less steep climbs for the larger rider
http://www.bkool.com/group/show/112763

Top 100 - Most of the UK Top 100 climbs, usually short and always steep
http://www.bkool.com/group/show/105919

For those who's Bkool username is very different to their Cyclechat username, it can be helpful for the rest of us if you have your Bkool username in your custom title, or failing that in a signature.

The custom title is the little phrase that appears under your cyclechat avatar...

Welcome Hopps

Phew! Active 2, just thought you might be a Brownlee brother type. Live events are evenings on Tuesday and Thursday, 8pm and 7pm respectively. Saturday Live 5pm rerun. You can do them anytime if you can't make the live events. Ask to join the league's on Bkool website, the admins here will accept you. Let us know your bkool name if different from Hopps123

I have a feeling you won't be active 2 for long bud. I'm active 3 and the closest I've got to an ironman is a night at the cinema watching a fairly average marvel film!

You'll find the fitness rating system a bit inconsistent / unreliable to say the least but the league formats mean you'll definately find competition whatever your level.
