My ebola / pleurisy / man flu means I am far too near death to ride tonight anyway.

Working in healthcare means the sympathy levels for my severe illness at work are zero so am turning to my cycle chat buds for support.
I was invited to a birthday party over the weekend,, and was quite looking forward to it. That was until I found out that half the attendees were going down, down with or recovering from all sorts of ailments ranging from colds and man flu to the v and d bug .

I don't often turn down the chance of a beer but after the shiv storm at the beginning of the year I am staying away .

Meant to add stay away from me. I don't want vitual man flu to add to my problems

Excellent! You're probably a little more excited than some of the others, who will become strangely quiet and not come on the forum for the rest of October.
I must admit to being surprised by the strange lack of suspicion and paranoia on here today.

After all, the chaingang is for fun but the mountain goats is where the real suffering happens:eek:

Thank goodness I am going on holiday to Cyprus in the morning, so I'll leave that little lot for the rest of you to enjoy.

I've just about got over my weekend jolly to Wolverhampton - nearly 12 hours in the saddle over the 2 days and a couple of punctures to boot. Plenty of climbing at the Derbyshire end, but nothing as long as those beasts you have chosen.

Good luck to you all, and I will be no doubt have plenty of tales of woe to catch up on when I get back on 15th October.

You're back on 15th!!!!!! That is great news as you'll be able to do all the goat rides after all. :hyper:

Have a great holiday and remember you have so much to look forward to when you get back

I just completed stage 2, I wasn't looking forward to it being 41km, but it wasn't too bad.

A bit gutted 0.2w away from a fitness level increase

Well done kipster, shame about your fitness level. I find this leg particularly difficult. I tried to use Ryan as a draft but lost his wheel quite early and had to do it solo. I improved on my first attempt, which is pleasing. I shall now shelve that leg.

Cheers Bill - I won't be going near a bike whilst away - a few lengths of the pool is the only exercise I'm planning on. In fact I might book in for an extra fortnight to avoid the pain you have planned for us.

For vontoux stage after mile 6 from what i can remember it's quite a grind, doesn't drop much below 7% and stays around 9% for the last 3 or 4 miles done it twice now :heat: but good climb so easy to set a nice pace
