LIVING THE DREAM
Yes. My Alpe d'Huez glory is already a distant memory....

Apparently Pep Tache has done the Ventoux in a little over 25 min and is the all time record holder.
25 min, Pish!, as the Scots would say.

Not going to be about to pedal this weekend taking all of my work colleagues for a day out in York tomorrow and then no3 son to the NFL at Wembley on Sunday. Looking at what you are all pedalling your way through at the moment I am not in the slightest bit upset to be missing it.

Just back from some Gran Canaria mountain riding. Unfortunately I catched something cold like, which made me cough day and night, driving everyone (including myself) crazy.
So it kind of spoiled my testing with the BePro power pedals, since I didn't feel I could push a 100%. However, I did manage to get a personal best on a longish climb at 291 watt. I also got a PB on a short climb averaging 343 watt, before having a puncture and problems with unaligned/loose pedal.

The feeling I get from the little amount of testing I did, is that I think I would have to be at my very best to average 300 real watt on a climb like Alpe d'Huez, so should be interesting to see how many bkool watt I can manage.

Just finished ventoux, my goodness that is an absolute beast of a ride. The hardest I have done

Took me 2hr08m.

My legs are now officially shot after doing aspin, chaingang, tourmalet, d'huez and ventoux on consecutive days

Last time I did this was September 2015, on the old 'friendly' FW. Took me 2hrs 20 mins ave speed of 9.2 km with an ave power of 196 watts. Be interesting what transpires tomorrow afternoon! Be nice to get sub 2 hours as I know I'm fitter, but I also suspect I had assistance from the FW last year so who knows
What time are y'all heading up? I don't think I'll be able to make it, but will try.

I'm going to do alp d'huez today at some point if anyone fancies it. Prob this afternoon but I'm flexible.

It's a climb I did lots of times before the summer so I'm interested to see where I stand fitness wise. I've never had much interest in bkool fitness rating system but when I see AAAC and Bridgy talking about maintaining 360- 420w(?) I find it very impressive indeed as that's a target I'd love to hit.

With regards Ventoux, big big respect to whoever has completed it, or does so today. Don't worry about the time you do it in just don't climb off the bike halfway up!!

Ok so I've just done Ventoux and I can confirm that it is truly hellish!

My legs felt like lead after yesterday's exertions and I hated every minute of it - I'm going for a beer now, enjoy yourselves tomorrow those of you doing it then

Good ride Paul, consistent 330w. I cannot see anyone other than AAAC getting close.
