I've put together Novembers Handicap League, more qualifying for the Team Time Trials until we get the numbers nearer 16-20.

I've added the 2016 Banff GranFondo S3 stage from last months Chain Gang, as it seemed a suitable course and length; we start with that tomorrow.

I have taken the times from the Chain Gang to get initial Handicaps, and had to approximate for anyone who missed that stage. If anyone else wants to join in or point me at a time for the stage please let me know.

So here are the initial Handicaps, subject to adjustment between now and tomorrow!

I too was intruiged by the workouts, but cant find any informaiton about how to use them in a structured training plan. I'm going to look at these to see if I can figure out if the workouts translate to the rides available. https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/k...sh-Cycling-and-TrainingPeaks-training-plans-0

These are free so nothing lost.

Regarding BSIM, yes there are a few niggles, but for me they aren't an issue. I dont look at the live rides, I just use search. No one messages me so small text here is an irrelevance. The ride, where we spend most of the time, is essentially the same, and I can put up with pressing the up arrow to get averages, although it remembering the setting would be good. Yes it would be good to see a bigger list of competitors, but I tend to find myself a minute or so in front of, and behind someone. The look and feel is ok, yes there are improvements to be made.

Zwift may work better and have more investment in the user interface, but I still prefer bkool. I find zwift slow to navigate, my laptop is under a year old, but I wasn't willing to spend big money to get an applicaiton to run smoothly with geat graphics. The laptop I have works well with bkool and ok with zwift. I don't find zwift has a commuity spirit but I haven't gone looking for it, therefore it could be out there and I just haven't found it.

My bkool subscription ends in February, so they have some time to find improvements. I am looking for structured training over races and I'm not sure bkool or zwift will meet my needs, maybe I'll use one or both to see if the training works!

Kipster,
They dont have this community here but i am not sure we would exist anywhere other than a care home:laugh:

But Zwift is very community orientated, lots of facebook groups for all types of rider, a strong empasis on inclusiveness across gender and racial boundaries and a lot of charity supporting rides too.

Zwift virginity lost now. Completed ftp 20 min test 318W ave Ftp 305W. Onto their ftp builder to see if I can improve.

Notes about Zwift, graphics more fluid and no loss of picture(should be really only a few courses)
Better, readable numbers and automated encouragement messages.
Feel of power, much the same as Bkool on the kickr. I will have to see if the kickr is at a disadvantage. I think it will be less likely to be as Zwift don't sell own brand trainer.

Preference, none both, equally useable. Will report on my progress if there is any

I resemble that remark

There's the problem. I don't do the book of faces.

I did sign up once and on just my name alone I ended up with about 40 or 50 suggested friend invites. I don't have 40 or 50 friends. I lasted about 6 hours then shuttered and deleted, permanently (it can be done), my account.

I understand entirely! I needed FB for work. I had the same experience. Now i only have 3 FB pages i visit: a work related access to justice, Zwift and bkool. Being a grumpy git I ignore every friend invite.

It is nice to do a training ride on the courses though in erg mode? I liked it.
Someone has linked sufferfest and trainer road workouts so that you don't have to use zwifts. Also, the general advice is dont do the 12 wk ftp builder-you are too strong for it already and will waste the first 5-6 weeks getting bored. The workouts are due a big revamp in coming weeks. Oh, and keep a lookout for Ryan who seems to ride most days. He is v v fast...
I will look out for you and try not to abuse you ^_^

Blimey busy day.

Just to echo others, very well done Bridgy and AAAC. Both very well deserved winners. You guys still seem to be improving which is quite daunting.

Many thanks to Bill and Geoff too. I've missed a couple of races but I definately feel better for being back in the mix.

@Andy - I agree you should start using the kickr again, it's the only chance I've got of beating you at the moment!

Is everyone up for the handicap race tomorrow? The missus has laid out so many sweets and treats for the local trick or treaters I may need to burn off a few extra calories...:hungry:

Scuse me uncle Geoff, I don't appear to be handicap league registered - it's disappeared from my Bkool page, that or my recent 'form' is too embarrassing for it? (Is there a broom wagon?) I can't find it in the leagues, so I can't re-join.. can you advise please?
