I'm going to have a go tonight but odnt know how much I've got in the tank... Anyone know how long the ride is? I need to know how many mini bags of Haribo to stock pile.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it to tonight's Team Time Trial handicap race. Sorry to anyone who was thinking of drafting with me to catch Bridgy. (Bob, LB) That was going to be my plan and I think we could have got the better of him. Could be a disadvantage to start a bit earlier than the group.
I like your thinking @gbrown ;)
Damn I was actually planning to tow you all the way, was going to delay my start and everything.

20.8km apparently and it insinuates "flat indoors" however my suspicion is that is a lie.

On a positive note I have just looked on the internet at the actual GranFondo and it states "it's not a race". I'm good with that, what i am less good with is the pictures of mountains on the website and the ominous fact that the route page won't open as though someone is trying to hide something from me.

I am sure they have. The risk is there are so many races to ride and at a certain level that some of us may miss out on recovery time. That is where a structured training plan comes in but we all know that-the problem is resisting the temptation to ride and race!
For me bkool is all about the challenge of climbing those hills. Having a chance to climb some of the grand tour hills is great. So big thanks to Bill and other admins for setting up the leagues and giving me an excuse to get on the bike

I try to complete all the rides in all the leagues - if for no other reason than ensure I post a time so anyone who doesn't do the ride gets my moose time lol

Afternoon Geoff,

8pm is too late for me tonight, can I do this alone before the 8pm start or do I have to wait until its run and then do it?

Cheers

Jim

You can do it before the 8pm start, but it may cause problems if you do, as not only do you have to have finished by 7:50, but also anyone who jumps in on your session. So if you start it in plenty of time, but someone joins you, then you leave but they keep riding, and someone joins them, etc., then it can still be running at 7:50pm and I struggle to start a new one for the multi-user ride and the elapsed time is all to pot.

Maybe if you use a password to keep others out then you can be sure it will be shutdown before 7:50pm?

I'm just going to trundle round myself tonight. If I can just burn as many calories as I intend to consume in sweets I'll consider it a successful night.

Looks like 8pm might be a bit late for a number of people! It was originally picked because it seemed to suit people after work/bedtime/etc. but I wonder what the best time would be?

Can we do a vote in this forum? It's important for the TTT to try and get a day/time that the maximum number of people can do regularly.

Geoff I'm flexible on time but prefer 7pm. Have a bit of the evening left afterwards
