@Add there's a place called Oxford street, beleive it's on the monopoly board. It's where all the drones go on Saturdays to be with fellow lost souls (do drones have souls? hmmm).

@bobinski great info thanks!

I'll order the bt power link / have a look in John Lewis. I'm assuming it'll work with any network provider, i.e Virgin? I'm going to mount the screen to the wall, I actually built a wall mount for another tv using 'unistrut' which is a metal system they use in the building trade. Worked out really well.

With regards the tumble dryer I've never wanted one. But we don't have a very big airing cupboard so this time of year it becomes a pain drying clothes. We actually looked at beko on ao funnily enough. You don't rate them or just tumble dryers in general?

I thought the beko ones caught fire... or is that hotpoint? Either way they'll get your clothes dry... some a bit drier than you may expect!

Morning all

I've agreed to a shopping trip into London's Death Valley, 'AKA' the west end... The missus is slightly suspicious, as she should be, as I only agreed to it so I can try and get some of the gear I need to turn our guest room into my new pain cave Whoop whoop! Anyways... What do I need? The plug thing that gives you better internet, what's that called? A lead between laptop and tv? A 40 inch tv too big or about right? Forgive my blindingly impressive tech talk.

Oh, also any tumble dryer recommendations? Let's just say the management played hardball in the negotiations...
The bigger the tv the bigger the fan you can get, you don't need to be as close to the screen.

Good luck TT.
I highly recommend the BT powerline adapters. The others i have had over the years always seemed to suffer from signal loss, losing connection with the router. I put it down to old electrical wiring and then decided to bite the bullet, funnily enough after a lost bkool session on Ventoux i think. They have been pretty much flawless since. I have the below but faster versions available. Mine allow me to connect from the loft, after i extended power cable up there, and not only run bkool no problems but i use pc in loft as music server to the house over ethernet via the powerline adapters too with only the occasional issue and that sorted with a quick reset of the adapter in the loft-a minute at most.

same price at maplin etc and JL wil price match.

Ebuyer tends to be pretty good for screens and your laptops connections will determine cable time, probably hdmi for image and sound transfer. Screen on wall or stand? Cheapest on Amazon.

Tumble dryer? Good clothes line outside? We got one from AO, a beko at £200. I hate it though.
I have the TP Link powerline adapters and they have been rock solid . Get the fastest you can afford.

Shame the NUC has been a pain .

:cursing: After a good nights sleep, I woke up refreshed and raring to go, headache gone, sinuses cleared and nose washer fixed. I've been out and done some food shopping, I can at least eat fairly healthy this weekend, nice piece of smoked haddock in the fridge for tonight. I even considered the bike for this afternoon, whilst out shopping, until I get the call.

One of my brothers is taking his family to a display in West London. Problem, his dog is not a fireworks dog, can I dog sit today, tonight and tomorrow. I can't refuse the lunatic that is a 2 year old boxer called Toby, I sort of agreed to dog sit at any time when he arrived as I love dogs but can't have one, but this was a bit short notice. So no turbo until Monday , but in the long run may have done me a favour .

Sounds like excuses to me! Try and get in the habit of regular short rides as this will keep your metabolic rate up each day and keeps you busy rather than watching TV and snacking has been my problem. Take the dog out for a long walk as that helps to keep you active. Hairy bikers have some good diet books with great recipes. I've recently lost around 2 stone thanks to bkool and eating well.... and trying to keep up with bridgy et al (little one means can't make evening rides though).

LIVING THE DREAM
Won't make the 5pm re-run today. Got to go to the flic's again to watch a cat or something.

That 3 missed live runs in one week!

I will have to give the chain gang a blast on Sunday after I have filled all the badger holes in the garden.
