I suffered a lot there physically and mentally. Feeling weak after yesterday and watching everyone else gain more and more on me all the way up. In the end I just wanted it to be over.
TT you could have savoured all that. You too Bob ;)

There's always next time Bill:okay:

@berty bassett cracking ride mate, every attack i made you managed to keep the distance at one point i had a massive sitch and the time got to about 35 seconds, i got a grip with my breathing and it went although i manged to regain some time it just wasn't enough.
And the so called cooldown  i was laughing out loud.
Really enjoyed that, every one well riden

Yeah I fell for that last week with @Whorty and remembered about 30 seconds in that I am a moose not a goat. Trouble is once I start I feel obliged to finish a ride even if it is likely to finish me. I have therefore declined your kind offer.
I didn't join in today - feeling a bit rough this week, what with the changing weather, a bit of a cold, and 14 hour days. Going to be working long hours for the next few months so need to get into a routine that works for me and HID. Probably have a pop at the Goat ride on Tuesday if feeling a bit better .... you don't fancy joining me @Soarerv8 ?

Watch out for wet leaves guys, I took a little tumble today, right at the start of a 30 mile ride on the nicest day we're likely to get for months!

On a short cycle path I had to go round a young lad waiting in the cycle lane, and coming back from pedestrian side to cycle path (carefully) the back wheel caught a slight difference in height hidden under wet leaves and refused to follow the front. Went down hard on my right side and gave my head a little bang, which worried me for a while!

I thought the rear derailleur was buggered, but it was just the electronics having pulled it in to avoid damage, a little test showed it still perfectly indexed!

I suggested the lad not wait in the cycle lane, but 10 minutes later, when I set off again he was still there, with another lad, forcing all the cyclist to detour round them. Hope I was the only one to go down!

Anyway, as bike was OK I decided to ride on with friends but when we stopped for coffee found it hard to walk, and by the time I got home could hardly hobble!

Feels like I have pulled a muscle at the top of my thigh, probably wrenching my leg as I went down clipped in. Bloody agony to walk now, hope ibuprofen gel and a nights rest sees it ease off!

Might be safer to stick to the turbo until the leaves have gone, or at least avoid leafy cycle paths!

No idea how the pros go down at speed and get back on, I was probably doing less than 6-7 mph and was surprised how hard I hit the path!

I'm getting loads of you've been beaten emails tonight, well done those of you that did the goat ride. When I did it I really struggled, I found it a very hard ride and nearly bailed several times. #imnotagoat

I wasn't far ahead of your ghost Monte and I totally agree about how hard it was and tempting to bail. In the end you were catching me.
