Who's up for a re-run tonight at very 5 or any time later.
I will be challenging Bridgy in an effort to get some time back.
I need to steal a total of 26 seconds which sounds worse if you call it half a minute.
Having observed his run on Thursday I need to go some and top 4.5 W/kg
My previously discussed Goats ride was 5.1 but the Chain gang run has a lot of descending which will knock my average way down.

I will be starting the rerun tonight at 5 as usual and Bridgy's ghost will be there. I'm not sure I can help you beat Bridgy but will try to put in an effort with Bob if he's there. You'll probably be off chasing Bridgy so not sure I'll see much of you except at the start line.

Minor problem at the moment. Hopefully fixed before 5pm. Can't get on the bkool website and will need to challenge someone on there to get the ride to appear under the league tab.

I will be there but not making any promises about speed or staying power. It doesn't look like I will have much time to warm up either which may mean a slower start for me than either of you would need, Bill and AAAC. But if I can then I will try and help.

Yeah Right^_^

^_^ That's the plan anyway.

I pretty much medically signed myself off doing anything around the house all week, beyond my self appointed advisory role! So when I declared myself fit to do a bike ride.... Let's just say if I do myself anymore damage I'll be rubbing my own back tonight .

Are you having a go at it Andy? The ride that is, not rubbing my back

This talk about HR prompted me to look at mine over recent weeks, specifically resting HR. Interestingly, but not necessary indicative of anything, my best rides have occurred when my waking or resting HR was 44/45. Anytime It was 50-53 I tended to produce less power/speed. Lots of factors, more sleep, less stress led to a lower HR. Less or broken sleep-did I tell you I have an 18y son who comes in alll hours?-and more life/work stress led to a higher resting HR and tended to be followed by poorer performance on the bike, turbo or not.

So, I have invented a new excuse-high waking or resting HR!

@kipster 63 miles in the rain. Very impressive. It's a good thing you put on the fenders.

If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Fair-weather riding is a luxury reserved for Sunday afternoons and wide boulevards. Those who ride in foul weather – be it cold, wet, or inordinately hot – are members of a special club of riders who, on the morning of a big ride, pull back the curtain to check the weather and, upon seeing rain falling from the skies, allow a wry smile to spread across their face. This is a rider who loves the work.

40/45 That's not three bad. I'm lucky to catch mine below 55 but then again I never check it first thing in the morning (never have time!). Done nothing but walk round town today and I have been sat down for half an hour and I'm in the high

Is anyone else able to start the ride tonight? I can get into the sim but the league ride is not there for me to start. I cannot open the bkool website to challenge anyone to bring the ride into the sim. Can someone else please see if the ride is available to them?
Anyone else starting it, please switch the real weather off in Settings before starting the ride. Thanks.

Thanks Randy, no rain thankfully but the roads were muddy and slippery. The wind was also picking up and it was cold (well for the south of England anyway). I was so happy to get back to the cafe at the end and get a mug of tea.

The plan was for an easy ride as I'm off to a real life velodrome tomorrow and didn't want to wreck the legs, I should've looked at the route more carefully I might have noticed the 1000m of climbing.

Problem now solved! Website now accessible and Bridgy now challenged and ride available.
I will be starting it at 5pm.
