Not quite sure what happened there. I did make a few tweaks, but not sure which one made the most improvement. But I shall list them in case it helps :-
1) I cleaned my bike for the first time in 6 months
2) I oiled my hubs, chainset, crank and derraillier, for the first time in 6 months (did feel smoother)
3) Did 10 minutes...well 9 minutes...well at least 6 minutes of warm up
4) Had a glass of Chardonnay about 3 hours ago
5) Had a Snickers immediately before session, which I haven't done since my Bkool reincarnation
and finally....most importantly....
6) For the first time I went commando in my cycling shorts!! Apart from not now having a damp rag with which to wipe the kitchen work top, I can't see any other downside.[/QUOTE

Well it worked, and at least the missus will get her knickers back, eh?

Reminds me of a similar ride you did a year ago, same type of gradient and you standing all the way. Well done, but I would have had you on the down:tongue:

I personally struggled big time, i don't do well with the steep courses - my virtual speed was around 3-4mph slower than my speed sensor reading, I pretty much stayed blue on anything above 7%. You know you're in trouble when you see 8% and think there's a break coming up.

I did have my weight set higher than my actual weight by 4kgs.

Well ridden everyone...

I only stood for anything over 9% on this one. Finding it a little easier to put the power down from the saddle this time around. Need to stick with it too if I'm going to improve. I thought you were going to catch me I have to say. Once I got to the top there was no way I was going to let you catch me though. I was putting down 380-400W on the downhill too in places when I saw you gaining. The numbers stayed blue, but my ETA to finish decreased, and the gap between us widened slightly so I guess it helped.
I'm sure that without your unfortunate connection issues you would have caught me. I did get a cracking start too mind you!

I was getting blue numbers whenever I stood up, but my speed was still indicative of my effort. I think my HR says it all really. Please forgive me whilst I momentarily bask in the glory of leading the stage, if only for a short while, until Bridgy and AAAC stride in and smash it!

@BILL S - my ride hasn't uploaded and I'm assuming it because my weight settings have been messed about with.

My weight was incorrect during the goat ride, (over) and I've put my weight o my correct weight. I changed the weight last night for my mate to use my bkool.

Any stress let me know.

Honestly I doubt I would have. I made 25s over the top, took a breather, hit 900w and didn't gain at all.
Bask away, great ride :bicycle:

Bill, my ride is not showing and it seems it's to do with when the power disconnected. Except it didn't because the green light was still on.
I should say I pushed hard not to get Adds but to stay away from you! I know you remain stronger and faster than me even downhill. That was a bloody good ride by you after yesterday's exertions.

It won't be me Adam - I have deadly man-flu currently and it's all I can do to drink this glass of red wine let alone do a bike ride.

I am not expecting any sympathy from you lot though....

You kept me pushing hard all the way if that's any consolation :okay:

Definitely a race to the top of the hill that one.
I kept thinking I was going to fall on my sword I must admit. I so nearly bailed at 30 minutes....if there hadn't been that downhill run to the finish I would have definitely quit at 30 minutes, I was cooked by the time I reached the top. But feels darn good now.
