White, generally, a real speed. Trainer speed, gradient, cadence, calculated power and registered weight agree in bkool's formula to a real world speed.

Blue not so much. Blue is bkool's best guess when one or more of the above don't fit within the formula.

Some have written about beating the blue (sounds rude :giggle:) on downhills. The weight I am means I'd be very hard pressed to do that on anything above (below?) maybe -2% pushing out less than 4 or 500w or more. If you look at the descenso sessions I do as a warm down, -5% or steeper down gradient, 60 or lower cadence and 20-40w gives me a solid blue speed of 50+ mph (wheel speed on the garmin edge generally <5mph). The fastest I've seen was very late 60's.

I just use these sessions as a keep the legs moving to ease them to a resting state.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I had no idea.

Nothing to verify so far! Just your run from 22nd in the league stats. Does it show in your history?
Here it is

Just realised it's a non handicap version I just added Chaingang ghosts and my previous attempts

Could someone explain the difference between blue and white numbers please?

I was going to say 'the colour'.

In the beginning you only got blue numbers going downhill because unlike the then market leader of sim trainers, Tacx, the BKool turbo does not have a motor to spin the back wheel to simulate descending. If it did then to put down power you would need to pedal faster than your wheel is spinning. Instead BKool just lowers the resistance and turns the speed blue in an attempt to simulate this.
I tell you the rest later. Got to go shopping!

Flipping eck... I've just come back from the purgatory of shopping - my numbers are definitely blue...

Thank you again.

Anyone rerunning the chaingang this aft?

Got the email Lars :B). I can't get near that effort, you smashed me! But I think I'll have to have another go this afternoon just to try and improve a little.

Did you change anything since Thursday?

I bet he put a new tyre on like I did. I went with white rubber, much faster. In fact I could of gone miles quicker if I had cut all those little rubber sticks off:laugh:

Great time LBHifi :okay: I think that would of beaten AAAC's time aswell

Basically, once you hit a blue on a descent, you can ease off a bit with little to no negative impact. Pedaling harder will make you go marginally faster, but the effort to speed ratio is not worth it. Power up the hills, rest on the descents (that's the theory anyway!)

Yes, sorry I'm at a birthday party this evening, so can't be there for the rerun. So I thought I would switch the tire and tube from my race bike to my BKool bike, and have a go at the chaingang stage this afternoon.
Pretty much the same effort as last time, although I little more hard earned this time, but a world of difference in the mysterious universe of Bkool.
The race tire is a worn down Conti GP4000 S 23mm and the tube is a Michelin Aircomp latex.
