LIVING THE DREAM
The talk of increasing Vo2 Max the other day got me to thinking (a dangerous state of affairs at any time). I have an incredibly dull and minor condition called Raynaud's syndrome (or sometimes Raynaud's Phenomenon however I can't call it that without adding nah nah nee nah nah afterwards). This feeble problem basically causes the blood vessels to go into a temporary spasm affecting blood flow with the outcome being that extremities like fingers and toes get cold and go a deathly share of white (so in summary I get cold hands and feet).

I waddled down the corridor and checked with a colleague of mine today who specialises in sports medicine to see if I could blame this for being crap at sport. Apparently in some ways yes because my body will be inefficient whilst that his happening at transporting oxygen. She did say however that it is less of a problem than me being a fat biffer. Of course at this point I proceeded to club her to death with the large Toblerone I was scoffing so only the first part of her message should be relied upon.

I therefore laugh in the face of your gammy knee @bobinski I have a proper excuse and it is a syndrome so I require a disabled parking bay at the start of all Bkool races. @gbrown please take my debilitating phenomenon (nah nah nee nah nah) into account when working out the handicap in the future, I believe a dispensation to use a mobility scooter in uphill races only seems fair.

I had a bad case of frost nip once so I have trouble with my extremities as well so I will blame that on the day that I finish behind you unless of course it was a bad bout of death.

Had time to think about it, and afraid i cant make it having brought a new bike for the DD I've got to pay it off.
Is it some thing you do every year? the year after wont be a problem as I won't have a mortgage to pay

Looked at my mortgage last night and I now understand what it means, 'mort' being French for death and 'gage' I assume is 'guage' spelt badly and hence mortgage is what we can measure death by and that id exactly where I will be by the time I have paid mine unless my State Pension will cover it.

I got the frost nip in the WW1 so I had the excuse first.

Which reminds me of the German guy who used to sweep our hangar in Detmold.(Edit: 38 years ago when I got frost nip).
He had 3 fingers missing from one hand and one day I asked him how he lost them.
He said he lost them on the Russian Front in WWII
So I said 'frostbite I assume'.
And he said 'No, horse bite'.

I honestly spent a week stuck in a bus in the Tibetan Himalaya's following a snow storm. This was about 30years ago. I got frost nip too. And no, before anyone asks, not in the knee;).

The literal translation I read somewhere was 'mort' death, 'gage' grip. I'm still alive and Halifax are not happy with me as I am no longer in their or anyones grip :wahhey:.

My wife is canny with our cash ... got us to clear our mortgage off in our mid 30's. Having no kids to drain the coffers helped
