@Daddy Pig I don't think so bud. I didn't get the chance to do much drafting so maybe I could improve a little but not that much.

I was up with you and Bridgy for the first mile or so and felt good but slowed knowing I can't keep it up :surrender:. So I spent the majority of the race in between yours and Bridgy's best times and Bill, who has another DP ghost and some other ghosts I'd included for company about 10/15 secs or so behind me. Luckily one of them bridged the gap to me with approx 2 miles to go at a time when I was starting to suffer badly and gave me a chance for a little mini rest in his draft.

Then Bill came back strong with a mile to go. I think a combination of me slowing slightly and Bill putting down big power means he's suddenly right up my a$$! :stop: I thought I was done then to be honest, very little left in the tank, and I know Bill is a great finisher and now he's all over me :ninja:! But then I see, only half a mile to go, and I know I can empty the clip now and suffer later so I just hammer it through the line, I just want to get there first!!! :bicycle:!!

If It is Bill rather than Bill's ghost I'm racing then I'm not sure I get to slip away at the end line I did.. It took me a long time to recover afterwards and I don't think I could of put in anymore. Having Bill's ghost was a massive help, as I think daddy pig ghost helped him as it's pure motivation. Also most importantly ghosts can't fight back so... it's not a classic victory, but I'm very happy with to make it top 10. Im going to try to just have one attempt at each stage barring a technical problem because it motivates me much more knowing it's a one shot deal. And hopefully now I'm back healthy I can do the live runs which should be more fun. I'm going to aim top 20 but realistically be very happy top 40.

@bobinski i could not bring myself to sell the pro unit. It'd just be too hard to take knowing I was getting handicapped like that. I think you've got to disguise it as a foot stall or something!

Excellent ride Tommy, well done!! That was the hardest I've exerted myself for quite some time and I put in my absolutely best possible effort, with a little bit of help from DP's ghosts. Like you I'm hoping to only do each one the once.

@Jim Brown after all 5 chain gang rides and 4 1/2 hours I have a minute 4 seconds on you. Within 11 minutes of @Whorty and @Goldwolfie .

Well done @Randyberlin - as tempted as I am to do another re-run, I just can't as I dislike that stage immensely... I do however bery much look forward to sparring with you in the months to come.. :boxing:

I'm not sure if you're doing the winter cup however if you are... I've just completed stage four and stuck up a nice little ghost for you.. :highfive:

TT, fantastic ride. I am not surprised given how strong you seemed on our rides over Christmas. Well done.

Re the NEO, looking at the winter league the first noon bkool turbo shows at 112, then a NEO at 246. That likely reflects the choice of bkool turbo's by most users as much as anything. But there is some kudos to be gained in being the first non bkool user in the leagues so I will see how that goes.

I haven't been doing the winter cup yet. I just did a goat ride and decided to stand and jam out the last .1 mile to raise my watts and jammed the chain...

On further scrutiny of the December CC @Randyberlin -Out of all who completed all 5 stages I came in last.. much work to do me thinks..

My recent re-visit to bike set-up and the advice to stretch out the thighs more post ride are now starting to show improved results.. I'm enjoying my cycling again. :pump:

I was putting some miles in again today - a 70k ride. Legs tired now but hoping these miles will put me in a good place. That was the longest ride in distance I've ever done, so well chuffed. Looking forward to the chain gangs in 2017 with so many of us at a similar level. :okay:

It looked a hilly profile but it was never more than 5% and mostly 1 to 4 %. Still made it tough but I need to do the longer rides to get my body used to long times in the seat. Didn't go too fast, Ave about 32kmph for the 70 km, but still it's a start  Back to work tomorrow so weekday rides will suffer again

Saw quite a few hardened souls out in the lycra today, sitting in my car and observing the outside temperature was around +1.5C. Respect to anyone out at that temperature...

I setup another months Handicap League, still hoping we can get enough times in to setup a few Team Time Trials. As soon as we have near to 20 riders we can switch formats. Seem to have enough of you fast boys for the Blue Team, going to have to split into two and put half in the Red Team, but very short for the Green and White Teams, need a few more hares for the hounds to chase...

Who's up for tomorrow 8pm?
