Just looked at the profile for WC Stage 4.
I am going to do it backwards because that way round the circuit actually goes downhill on average.
Fek knows how but that is what the profile is saying.

Sounds tricky as doing it backwards means you won't be able to see where you are going...

Watching the race it can be broken into small segments, first climb 2mins, second climb 30secs, flat section 3 mins. Obviously this is balls out top speed. It will be even quicker for the power monsters.

I've toured India .. many times and visited many regions. Whilst you can get a hot curry, they have to be asked for.. most are spicy .. the thing I struggled with on my trips to India wasn't the spices or the curry heat, more the fact that it was spicy breakfast, lunch and dinner... being near the sea offered different flavours and of course in Goa, Mumbai and Kerala you can get beans on toast.. which is nice every now and then..

Whilst I was touring Maharashtra I once stopped to watch a cycle race.... I kid you not.. the road was like an egg carton - so many holes....

Lovely country...
Been to India and Sri Lanka, and as a Brummie by birth, I was brought up on curry so was in my element having curry for breakfast, dinner and tea ... HID wouldn't join me at breakfast, but was fine having curry twice a day :hungry:

Well the 4 mile rest ride at balls deep pace is as i thought pretty horiffic, i think by the time i reach the bottom of the second lap my heart rate should calm down as at the time i thought an alien was about to burst out of my chest.
I was tired, hungry and my legs still ached from last night's session so should do slightly better tomorrow
For some of us start in the big ring lost a few seconds changing gears.

Edit:And i only did a 7 minute warm up

To give myself every advantage I'm going crazy and cleaning my chain and oiling it :hyper:. (Supposedly this can give up to an extra 5 watts!)

Edit: New record from 'Martin' (you were racing against him earlier), 28.22. Good ghost to add @BILL S

Pro tip:

Make sure you get all the excess lube off your chain with a cloth or kitchen towel. Its very hard to deny it's your fault when there's a clear line of lube directly behind the trainer on the back room rug. This may or may not have happened to me... :B)

Apologies for the email @Jim Brown - I thought I better get Stage 3 of the winter cup out of the way before tomorrow's CG attempt at Stage 4.

I'm sure you will get you own back then if you are around tomorrow, as I didn't fair too well on that course during the Summer Cup.

Hope we get a few on the autobus as the 'big boys' are really going for it by the sounds of it, so it could be quite lonely out there.

Also if you can get someone the hold some sand paper on your rear tyre to remove 50% of your tread you can reduce your rotating mass.
Don't other doing this to the front tyre on turbo though.

Also set up a vacuum cleaner by your back wheel to suck the air away from your spoke to reduce profile drag on the spokes.

I was thinking of using one of those power switches recommended earlier, push the watts up and do a 'pep Tatche' special....

Agreed! Only been once but I'd love to go back. It really is a magical place and the people are incredible. I'm not sure you want to tell your son this but it's the 'Delhi belly' you can't prepare for!

I served on Indian crewed ships in the Merchant Navy during the late 60's and early 70's and visited all the major ports on the sub-continent - showing my age I know, but I was only a young whipper snapper back then.

The crews were always very loyal and hard working, and I have loved a curry ever since.

I haven't been back since but I bet the the infrastructure has changed somewhat with all the progress they have made.
