Actually it was trying to stop a lorry rolling down the hill when the handbrake wasn't holding it sufficiently and the driver was out of the cab... bit more than doing a bob I assume!

Prey tell more.
I tried stoping a rolling truck once using the human wheel chock method but luckily the truck had twin rear tyres and I just went through the middle of them.

I must admit it sounds like a bizarre moment of super human strength bought on by the need to save life as normally a mortal short of those that compete in the ' world's strongest man' would stand any chance holding a rolling truck.

I've decided that my two wheel outdoor cycle hobby is going to look something like this:

so I can go as quick as I do in BKool:

We were having a bloke stick on a new chimney pot and his cherry picker started to run off the handbrake downhill. I just put some weight in and between the two of us managed to stop it and he ran around and put the foot brake on. We just had to stop the momentum. Bit dodgy as I was almost going to get either run over or squashed against a granite wall if it didn't stop! It was only after that I realised my back had gone pop!

But granite walls are expensive so it would have been a worthwhile sacrafice.
I assume you carried out a full risk analysis and you were wearing a yellow vest which in it's self would have protected you along with your toetectors, helmet and goggles as backup.
