I never did figure out if pedalling had any effect at all. Drafting certainly didn't seem to work.
I think power does make a difference i took 18 seconds off of a previous best with a higher average power. But it does not seem to make much difference on a moment by moment basis due to the blue numbers.

Trainer must like me at the moment

I have another month free trial if anybody wants it. Just PM full name and email and I'll send invite

I'd take you up on that mate but you already gave me a free trial so they prob wouldn't allow me another.

Andy your last trainerroad session you averaged 25mph with only 216w. Did you dust off the old bkool pro unit for that one?

Just seen the results .... @theboxers :notworthy:

Well done TB - I was going like the clappers and averaged 327 watts and you just kept pulling away. To be honest I don't think all that effort made a great deal of difference to free wheeling down, but at least it was a reasonable workout.

At least it wasn't 'Fat Lads At The Back' for a change - no offence intended.

Ignore speed Tommy,. Trainer is in erg mode and I was using a bigger gear, so speed pick up will be much faster. Power(erg) resistance related to cadence.

What speed did you hit down the hill TB?
109.9kmh today @ about 12km where there is stretch of 10 - iirc 13%. I was putting out about 75-85 watts @ around 70rpm for about 500metres and went from 100 to 110kmh

So the speed is out of sync with the power? Sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake...

It must be in erg,. Trainer road uses power, it doesn't matter what gear I'm in, it just alters the resistance depending on my cadence. I use middle of the Cass for straight chainline. TR doesn't even register speed just power, cadence and hr

Ah ok. I thought maybe it didn't register your correct weight or something. Don't know what weight you need to be to get that w/kg, but I think even Berty wouldn't hit those numbers!

It's Strava pulling the speed number from the file, it figures really. If I'm using the 15t at 95rpm it will have a certain speed pickup. Jump to 14t same rpm speed will go up. Resistance is the same in both gears because TR is holding a fixed power figure. Only cadence variation makes it easier on the legs

Sorry I missed the live CG race - I'm afraid I was over on the dark side joining a friend on a zwift race. Will try and catch up later when I feel the need for a fast spinning session!
