It's quiet on here tonight .... you all gone to a party and not invited me :sad:

Edit : @AAAC 76C is here ..... looks like the party ran out of wine early and he bailed the party :biggrin:
Home for lunch over here. Just took Kipster and Ruby for their noon run and am shoveling in as much food as I can In preparation for tomorrow's rerun

Yep.
I knackered myself at the start, first day back and all that, and wasn't getting anywhere so I thought it might be worth pairing up.
I backed off and backed off and you were not catching so I used my brakes and just as you were a second back I timed out and had to start pedaling again and work hard to catch you.
The drafting was difficult. Once I caught your draft it slung me forward and left you behind. The same happened when you caught me so I tried putting the power on as you were coming through and I still go left behind.

Had a look at 'bike calculator http://bikecalculator.com/
For 80 kg and an average gradient of -8.03% for 19.2 km this is what it tells me.
In normal brackets are the times for a 125kg person
In square the times for 100kg

As you can see we were beaten before we started!

Just added 96 kg comparative times (Jacob) in fancy brackets.

000 watts = 15.23 min (12.18) [13.62] {13.90}
092 watts = 14.73 min (11.97) [13.30] {13.55}
203 watts = 14.23 min (11.74) [12.96] {13.18}
334 watts = 13.73 min (11.50) [12.60] {12.80}
489 watts = 13.23 min (11.23) [12.23] {12.41}
Time gain = 02.00 min (00.95) [01.39] {01.49}

Again, why even try unless I can spin close to 500 watts for 15 minutes.

Note to self:
Must get a bigger drill!

I did -===45-0 (that last bit was typed by my avatar).
To start again.
I did have plan but my battery operated drill is not powerful enough to drive my cranks via the bottom bracket spindle bolt or fast enough to drive the turbo direct via the spindle nuts.
Only other option is to eat a lot tonight.

EDIT
There is one more option but a litre of wine only weighs just over 1 kg and I don't think I can hold 50 litres without having a pee.
I might just try though to see how far I do get but I would have to do the session straight away.
Best I log into BSim and get everything ready before I start though.

how is your sciatica doing?
Hi Randy. Its getting better slowly thanks, I'm having to make sure I try and walk, stretch and massage but it's all painful stuff. Night's are the worst as I'm just in constant pain and the drugs don't seem to work...
I've managed to stop taking morphine in the day so that's good but walking is very painful even with a crutch. On the plus side mummy pig allowed me to have a beer last night- she's being very strict and has control over the key for the beer cupboard!
One positive is I don't mind getting up early with the baby as she helps take my mind off things especially when she's sick all over me!
Should be physio on the next couple of weeks, mri and then seeing what the big picture is!
My aim is to be able to do the CG rides all together at the end of the month so watch out @theboxers and @Goldwolfie!

I gather you've drunk 10 bottles of wine and either fallen into a puddle or over a poodle?

Good to hear you are making progress. Hope it improves quickly for you.

Watch out for that CG stage 1 down hill that isn't (talk about bait and switch :cry::cursing: :cry:).
I'm still ahead of you overall .... I'm gong to enjoy that until the next stag where you will blow me away :biggrin: This league is the closest ever I think - it's still all to play for :ninja:

Although both stages 3 and 4 have sections where my inbuilt momentum generator will help, like it did in stage 2 :secret: :whistle:. Things are not quite as clear cut on either. There is a long section of low value slopes in stage 3 on the second half that will have me putting out as much power as I can muster to maintain my lead, provided I have one. Stage 4 has climbs upto 7% on the first half, like the stage 1 not descent :cry:.

I'm think I'm going to get beat on both but not quite as badly as normal over these distances :unsure:.

Definitely still all to play for :okay: It's very tight for a number of us and making this an interesting league. I'm loving the spinning sessions too - great for the old heart! :tongue:

Just got back from Sherwood Pines MTB outing with club. Great weather and the red route is really technical. Lots of potholes, burms, jumps, switchbacks. Tree stumps galore to catch you out. Did one little pacey loop, called it day with a twinged back after grounding pedal on a stump.

At least 5 fallers in the club with various cuts and dents to helmets. I nearly came a cropper on a fast downhill section where I was caught by a jump and landed front wheel first. Only the bikes decent suspension saved me from flying over bars-phew. No Gopro :biggrin:. Club captain tried a combo jump and landed on the second peak, ouch bruised plums:laugh:

Andy within that story are at least five good reasons while you'll never see me anywhere near a mountain bike! You're a braver man than me :thumbsup:
