I couldn't live with you on the hill @AAAC 76C but I felt good on the early flats and no cramps this time so able to push hard to the end - don't know if you waited for me or I caught you fair and square? (I always wonder that when I catch up with you!!)
Not that it matters at all, but from where I was sitting, I went over the line before you @AAAC 76C , and yet you still managed to finish 6 seconds ahead of me! I don't envy the organisers if that sort of thing happens in the NC.......
Both you and Bill seem to loose watts on the climb and I don't.
That all said I had a funny day today, and not Ha Ha funny.
My legs were lead and my heart was on a go slow.
I should ditch my HRM as I am getting too paranoid about my heart rate.
If it doesn't seem to be going up enough I get worried and the same if it hits 162 all be it I can still hit 172 for very short periods.
Anyway my starting tactic was to stick with @bridgy 's ghost and challenge it on the climb.
Well it seemed at least 3 people had a different idea so I was happy to tag along.
When it was reduced to myself and the real @bridgy it became quite a quest, heavy legs and heart paranoia were soon joined by my prostrate (which has been unhappy all this week anyway) deciding that it didn't like my new saddle so I arrived at the foot of the main climb hopeful that I could a) get a chance to stand up for a while and b) set a tempo that @bridgy could not stay with.
A&B both worked but my legs were getting heavier and my HR was not climbing so when I got close to the top I unleashed all I had and within what seemed seconds 161 was on the screen and the climb was over.
By this time my legs had gone from lead heavy to kryptonite heavy so I decided enough was enough and it was time to enjoy the downhill run home.
Unfortunately is was not all downhill and then rwith 1.5 km to run I looked at the elapsed time and saw 1:02 .
I though @bridgy had finished in 1:02 something on Thursday so it crossed my mind it was not his Thursday ghost that was behind me rather a slower one so I made a dash for the line.
The below says I beat @bridgy but I am also sure he was 2 seconds ahead of me!

I did get the feeling you weren't quite yourself in the long flat section before the climb as you weren't pulling me along in the way you sometimes do and were a bit more willing to sit in my draft than usual. This is all relative of course as we still set a really good pace! Both you and Bill seem to loose watts on the climb and I don't.

AAAC, I do wonder sometimes if you have a bevvy of beautiful nurses to put you together, 6 million dollar man style, before a raceyou know, massaging your chest, perhaps even your per...no I cannot type that out

My stage 4 time is 1:40:35.
I'm too lazy to fire up a device to edit the spreadsheet myself. Thanks
