Let me know what time you're planning on riding on Monday Tommy and I may join you if I can't do NCQ4 today

I’ll do stage 2 first I think mate. Around 9:30 am. Then if I can get away with it stage 4 straight after, so maybe 10:30 or 10:45. I might not get away with it though if the missus, or my legs, catch on to my cunning plan. Then I’ll swallow my pride and take Bridgy up on his offer to give me a time for stage 4 in-line with if I’d of cruised down the last slope.

Nice to be up there close(ish) to you lot but still a bit of work to do for me to get there I think. I will of course do the last stage but for team sake I think it should be between @BILL S and @peterob... :notworthy:

You definitely go a bit quicker if you didn’t insist on running with your bike lofted over your head!

Even in bkool watts that would be bl00dy impressive!!
Yes, but you only see the short watt peeks there. It's a 6:30 to 7 minutes segment on Strava. Mike Woods averaged 468 Watt. Porte leads the table 12 seconds faster but no watts are registred. However, I reckon Porte is slightly lighter than Woods, but not enough for the watts to be equal.

Mayby 475 Watt avg. for that 6:39 minutes?

Ah - no good for me then. Despite what AAAC may think, some of us do actually work during the day!

its a tooth belt Carl, so correct tension is required. Think of it like cam belt on car, incorrect tension results in trashed engine
I know the theory, it's the practice I struggle with  how tight is your belt ( and not the one on your trousers!) Very tight. Quite tight with a bit of slack, or quite slack? Mine is very tight now but was quite tight when I was getting the slippage.

Thats is bloody impressive from such a light rider, I can only just just hold 400W for the same time and weigh darn sight more than Porte.

Another stat I read from his ride there was he held 10.37w/kg for a minute - which highlights that despite those really big watts there's not really much of him!

That power meter data on screen is a really good feature - particularly during attacks like that. I hope it's something we see more of

The belt you fitted, does it have the same tooth profile as the old one? It needs to be accurate. Cam belts/ tooth belts normally have a 1-2mm deflection See arrow where deflection should be. Wahoo recommend, Gates PowerGrip GT 5M 170T 15 belt replacement

It’s probably also worth noting that Porte was putting out those numbers after 3 1/2 hours and 150km of hard racing, against top pros. As opposed to sitting on a turbo in a nice controlled environment with a big fan and towel at the ready! ^_^

Yeah it’s really cool isn’t it. I wonder if team sky would be so open with their data.

You can incorporate it into GoPro footage. So hopefully I’ve worked out how to do it in time for the Cambridge ride.

Yes but also don't forget that if his teammates did their work right, a great deal of that time would be at a load level even we could manage.
