its a tooth belt Carl, so correct tension is required. Think of it like cam belt on car, incorrect tension results in trashed engine

Exactly! had to get tools out I didn't know I had![]()
I know the theory, it's the practice I struggle withhow tight is your belt ( and not the one on your trousers!) Very tight. Quite tight with a bit of slack, or quite slack? Mine is very tight now but was quite tight when I was getting the slippage.
Another stat I read from his ride there was he held 10.37w/kg for a minute - which highlights that despite those really big watts there's not really much of him!
That power meter data on screen is a really good feature - particularly during attacks like that. I hope it's something we see more of
‘CycleChat world tour team’? It does sound good. Now, if only we had a team jersey...![]()
A couple of years ago Froome did a training ride from Southampton and posted on twitter for local riders to join him. A couple of hundred turned up, about 30 finished the ride with Froome. I suspect they would have been local racers and that Froome was taking it 'easy'.I like seeing the numbers, they tell alot, sometimes when the rider outwardly looks comfortable.
Also seeing that their numbers are normal, attainable, but maybe not sustainable for mere Mamils![]()
Come on @TurboTommy, you only have 6 minutes to ensure that my position is safe (*), and 15 minutes puts @keithaitch into the hot seat as chief cheerleaderWill have to leave stage 4 another day or so
My engine ain't too good in the first place ...... more of an Austin Allegro than a FerrariAnd you are the engine Merecat
I see the words, but i have no idea what you're sayingAre there no good You tubes on the subject?
A tight toothed belt slipping does not sound right.
Perhaps the belt is nagged or something else is slipping.
Mark the pulleys and the shafts to make sure they are staying mated.
I see the words, but i have no idea what you're saying
It only started slipping on the 8%+ gradients, once the resistance was high. Even turning the pedals slowly resulted in a slip. I tightened the belt tensioner more and this seems to have fixed it for now but the belt is now tight.
Can't find any decent You Tube videos. There is one that shows you how to adjust the tension, but not what the tension should be so about as much use as a chocolate teapot!
And you are the engine Merecat
I thought GP Lama had done one? Apparently not.
You have probably seen this one.
