Well that was harder than expected and slightly disappointing, especially the bit before the hard climb which is actually a very gradual 1-2% climb, not the up and down that we had. Great battle between @BILL S and @Brusgaard i think you probably both need a lie down!
I enjoyed it, congratulations @BILL S chasing @Brusgaard down.
@microkid there just wasn't enough small gradients/downhill for you to get away and I knew if I could be somewhere near you at that last climb I should be able to pull away.
@Goldwolfie felt for you, hope your done soon!

Yeah, I'm just the worst climber, even in the virtual world... Just kept pedalling at my FTP to get to the top....

Yes indeed I need a lie down. Great fight by @Brusgaard who I didn't think I could catch until nearly the end. I had let my tyre down to 90 psi so that seemed to slow me a bit on the flatter section but seemed to help on the big Hill.
A big thanks to Keith for that hour or so of bliss. You really know how to show us a good time. The only question now is how many times I'll do it again on Saturday.

Glad you are enjoying the routes, unless I've totally missed the sarcasm! I'll be there on Saturday unless she who sits on the back has driven me to within an inch of my life on our tandem ride in the real world!

Thanks @shimceltic - I've finished at last, not sure if I made the cut and will be thrown out of the December league. I'm sure I'll feel the benefit when I've recovered.

I think I'll give the Saturday rerun a miss, as @Bored Man has something similar planned in the December Dash league.

Great effort, well done you made the cut by 3 seconds!
The December dash one is hell, ask @perswe who did it today to get out of the climb you just did and is now probably regretting his decision but happy to have it behind him!

Ohh..thursday was today...yeah, I kinda forgot. Drank a good number of gin&tonics instead. That was fun too. Not nearly as cumbersome. Will do the stage tomorrow. Did the awful stage 3 in the other league (cc dash) earlier today. Hated it. I know the trainer doesn’t react on resistance on anything above 11-12% but the speed drops to 3kms/h on 25+% so it means you spend an endless amount of time on the 25+% sections. I think I lost 15 minutes on @keithaitch or so. Not that I had any hope of losing much less...but still.

Well that was hell. It seemed like A right old slog that would never end.
How you guys that finished minutes ahead do it I'll take my hat off to. Can't remember how many minutes but I think I was down 5 on you Keith . Kudos to all.
At one point I can honestly say I thought about getting off and trying again tomorrow. Glad it's over.

Those 10/12 % bits seemed endless. Really need a bigger cog than a 28 on the back.

I don't think I will do the Saturday rerun. Hopefully the weather will be kind and I can get a ride outside.

The bad news is that it looks like you didn't do it as a league ride. Did you select it from your league rides that appear in the simulator ? I have the time so if you want to do it again and stop after a couple of kms I'll get the time adjusted to reflect your actual time ....or you can join us on Saturday and hang on to my attractive rear wheel...actually it's a hideous red trainer tyre that makes me barf when i look at it!

I tried something new today, getting out of the saddle and riding. With that I was able to ride some of the steeper sections at 300w+, which kept you behind me for maybe a few more minutes than expected.

I'm still not comfortable standing up, listening to the squeaking sounds from the bike and/or trainer. But I'll try this again in the future on those 10%+ sections!

Another thing I need to look into, when doing this again, is to make my HR-strap a bit tighter, as it dropped to the "steeper part" of my upper body, when standing up. Doesn't pick up much heartrate, resting on my belly.

Really interesting. My climbing technique (ITRW) is to stand for half a km and sit half a km and keep that going for as long as I can on long clmbs. When I stand I change up one or two gears and when I sit I change back down. I find it works really well, but it can put a strain on the legs. However I've noticed in bkool that when I get out of the saddle there isn't the same increase in power, unless i can keep a good rhythmn going but if I can there is a definite gain to be had, especially on really steep bits. Don't worry about the creaks, you're just getting old, you'll get used to it!....believe me!

Btw, over the holidays does anybody fancy pratting about a bit and trying a velodrome miss and out session, the one where there is a sprint every two laps. If we give it a go, so we know how it works we could then do it as one stage of the league one month. If people fancy it I'll create a doodle so we can find the time when most people wpould be available. I've tried it but never had other people join so am completely new to it.
