I had the nicest real world cycle yesterday to Flamborough on the Yorkshire east coast. Stunning. Wouldn't have fancied going out cycling today though.. too windy. Went for a walk with the kids and dog instead:smile:

I remember visiting Flamborough Head as a young boy. Could have been late 60’s early 70’s ish,

Looks like virtual ride
Edit it to ride and all will be revealed!
I was setting up my 820 yesterday and wondering what do you do to just get it to record a ride? Also reviews say the battery only lasts four hours with all the GPS stuff. Any tips?

I had the same problem in trying to get it to record and was ablout to chuck it in the hedge until I realised there were two buttons below the screen. You can select race train or Navigation.
I usually just press training and the press the right button to start recording and then at the end of the ride press it again to stop recording.
The navigation feature is good if you have any previous rides or and unfamiliar locations you want to ride.
just create a route on strava or similar app export the route as a gpx file. Then connect the edge 820 to your pc open garmin connect then upload or you can open the edge 820 folder in windows explorer, drag the file into the new files folder and it should show up.
There is also a feature that is good using the virtual partner so you can race against either yourself on a previous ride or set an average speed on the garmin and then see if you can beat it. I find that's really good.

The battery life depends on several things. I think if you just record a ride then it the battery life will be longer than if you are using it as a navigation aid.

There is an indoor option on the screen menus, but ive never used that. I think it turns off a couple of things.

Hope this waffle helps a bit.

Am I right in thinking that nobody actually did any league rides today? @Mark68 Strava had server problems today. Took 2/3 hours to get segments on rides.
I did the Aspin thing in 23.25 just add it to the spreadsheet thanks.

Just saw your ride on strava. That looked great. Not very crowded. Was it early morning?
Hey Randy,

It was just after noon, people seem to start a bit later here on a Saturday though. There was a few people about I just grabbed more peaceful shots from the headcam. Plenty of kids learning to ride with balance bikes or bikes with stabilisers, actually a few adults had stabilisers too (really!) some in-line skaters (actually pretty quick so less annoying than a lot of cyclists). There was some amazing machinery - full carbon aero bikes with guys wearing full winter gear too - although I'm sure there are some serious riders, all the ones I saw were pootling along looking super cool. :becool: Unlike me sweating like crazy.

Great fun though, I took the train back over and did it again today... Bike wasn't so good though, back tyre went soft quickly and the seat worked lose...or maybe it's just me and too much time in a freezing garage on Bkool  Still I loved the freedom, back to the office grind tomorrow.
