That was fun, I enjoy hanging on to coat tails for dear life. I'll do the dragging next week @gold
I was glad to lose only 14 seconds to the downhill speedster. Wolfie and Keith good little chain we had when we dropped the others on the 1st slight incline and they just couldn't get back in.
yes, I was having fun just holding on to you two for dear life. Now i know what they mean about getting into the break.

Great fun drafting in the first half before it levelled off and I couldn't keep up. Looks like the drafting is properly fixed, but it seems a bit weird that you can only see one other rider in the drafting box. Soon get used to that though.

yes and as the leader board only shows a couple of people you don't know if you are being caught by one person or a group. It would be interesting to do a rerun alone and see how far behind @microkid we are as he did do it alone, the difference in the two runs is the drafting!

Drafting seems to be a big factor with those high speeds, late start meant coming down all alone 😭 Still, a time on the board to hopefully smash on Saturday.

Well that was a novel experience, not only seeing other riders 30 seconds after the start of a race, but being involved in a little break away group for second place finish. No chance of catching @microkid though - he's a beast on these downhill jobs.

I enjoyed the drafting experience, but not to sure I got my tactics right, as I just got my head down but couldn't shake Keith and Shim off, and thought I was done for when I saw that uphill bit at the finish.

No doubt it will back to normal next week, but I do like the mix of stage types Keith has put together over the last couple of weeks.

Sorry team. I messed up at the start somehow. I started pedaling when countdown hit zero, but my avatar stayed put. Not sure. I just couldn't get any speed and looks like I finished dead last🤪.
Scenery was very nice though.
Yes, false starts are a bugger. Best to quit and come back in. The scenery is beautiful, as is next week, when we turn right and climb up to the top of the peyresaude.

Yes, now the drafting works I think the tactic of you are stronger, as you were tonight, is to actually sit in for a bit, then explode and try to get a 5m gap to stop the others drafting you. But they can then work together and pull you back. It's a real dog fight with three and what's worse is you know that you can't allow yourself to be dropped by the other two or you are dead.

Thinking I may have overdone it recently. I have been feeling a little under the weather and I seem to struggle keeping power going and have noticed my watts lower than perhaps they should be. Maybe I'll just try and stay at lower watts and slower riding for the next few rides. Try to let my body recover a bit. I definitely noticed tonight as I just couldn't keep the power going.
Won't make the Saturday rerun I'm afraid. Perhaps a good thing . Don't fancy that again
