Yes, I hope you enjoyed it. I soon remembered we are on the same team, so we might as well ride together and use the draft. The plan was to get us both to the bottom of the small climb with a sizeable gap to @BILL S and @AndyMacca, and then hope you would go fast up that and widen the gap to the finish line.

Yes, those bumps at the start were nasty. xx( I switched to video like @keithaitch, but that was a bit too cold to look at, so switched back to 3D again for better drafting.

I was expecting you to give a good dig a km or so from the last hill and drop me, have enough of a gap to stay ahead at the top and out sprint me to the finish. Great ride you did

Yes, what a shame we didn't really know where each other were. I now realise that you were the phantom black dot on the profile but you weren't appearing anywhere on the leader board. Oh well I might have to try to get the 5 seconds on Saturday but it will be after 110kms on the tandem so I don't think I'll be in any state to better tonight's performance. Chapeau. Here's to another great battle in next month's league.
Well you fought well for someone who could not see me.
I joined with about 8 minutes warmup to go.
The countdown was there then as I remember thinking you must have started a touch late.
I logged out and back in with 3 minutes to go in the hope the countdown would come back.
10 minutes must have past with no start so I tried to suggest starting again here in the chat room. When I peeped back at the sim you had all started.

Andy, we'll done. Thought I'd try to keep the gap short enough for the last climb but as I tried to reel you in my HR went to 180 so I eased off, didn't want to die and there will always be another opportunity to beat you!
Thanks @shimceltic, I should have said that earlier, blame it on the post race brain fog.
I feel like we were robbed of a good race today though. Who knows, if we'd ridden together maybe we could have made a dent in that big gap up to the next group. Yes next month we'll have some more good racing! :okay:

@keithaitch thanks for the drafting school in the "warm down" ride, I was almost at race pace trying to keep up - even with you slowing down for me frequently. :heat:
Yes it was fun but it confirmed to me that they haven't quite got it right. I couldn't always accelerate enough to stay in front of you when you caught back up, I still think of they extended the drafting box to 10 seconds it would be better and allow the catcher to reduce their speed enough to not over shoot. I think the idea of a group warm down ride after the main event is one we should consider.

Try it in the velodrome.
You stick your nose out, put the power on to move by and your indicated Watts drop and you go backwards and drop out of the draft window.

I will not be present at the re-run today.
Off for a 2 day retreat down in the West Country, Launceston.
Do far on the journey we have had wind (not mine), rain, sun, snow and sleet so it could be interesting.

I'll be there and will start it, hopefully successfully and without incident this time. I'll add ghosts that I can find of anybody we know. I have to give it a go, 5 seconds ffs. Though I know I have no chance, still 20kms into a brutal head wind and the local 15%wall to get up before the restorative beer of home. Hope the stroker has hit something left because I'm cream crackered.
