That reminds me to get my Irish passport
I posted this on the other thresd because it was written by Norry's coach. I bet you would like it.

Ok. Off topic but a really good read. @Norry1 's coach wrote a book that is a history of a bicycle race in Ireland but is way more. It is filled with the stuff you would expect.. characters like a circus strong man living in the woods with a goat to train for the race... Betty Bassett types who ride long miles to get to races then ride home.
But also insight into the Irish politics and it's weird affect on bicycle racing the last 60 years.I had no idea.
The best thing is he is a really good writer. Its very entertaining and extremely well written. Some stuff that stuck with me was his description of fellow riders when he asked about one dominant rider. The way he wrote about their struggle for words in itself said a lot about the rider.

Have done this week's Flanders ride and it was long! Made for somebody like @Brusgaard , not enough climbing for me after the first two early kicks. I couldn't catch a couple of guys who were working well a couple of minutes a head of me, but I like the format and it seems to be attracting a lot of participants. I think they have finally cottoned on to what we know that riding live against other people is what we enjoy. Now if they can just develop the social side.

Great minds think alike! Following @Brusgaard recommendation I bought a Vriedstein fortezza senso intending to use it as a winter and trainer tyre on my good wheels. I couldn't get on to my 58 deep section carbon wheels which was my original plan but put it on to my normal trainer wheel (Mavic Kysirium elite s) and it too felt faster. Max pressure is 170psi!!!!!! I put it at 140, more than that frightens me! That and a lack of arm strength to pump it up.

Vriedstein fortezza senso now on my bike. testing tonight. race tomorrow
I hope this works because actually getting fit is much harder than it sounds.

Are you using the Xtreme Weather? Max tyre pressure is 10 bars for 23mm and 9 bars for 25+28mm. 10 bars equal about 145 PSI. I don't think you should exceed that, and also check which pressure your rim accepts, else you may end up with a broken wheel!

No, not using the extreme weather as I didn't see any point in that for a turbo tyre. I put about 150 psi in it and all seems well. I don't think anything over about that will improve performance as its pretty solid at that psi. If it helps me to keep up with you I'll be happy;)

I'm using the extreme weather 23 mm, it gets pretty humid in my cave, and it says maximum pressure is a ridiculous 12 bar or 175 psi. I had mine at 150 and it felt good. Good point about the rims though I'd hate the tyre to slip off on the trainer.

For social rides, Bkool should develop some web-based forum/scheduler where all rides are posted on a calendar base. I already suggested this multiple times. So far, nothing.
It's already there under groups. The USA tour used to use it. But it is blank currently.

...but you have to be a member of the group to see that.

I think @microkid wants something like the Zwift Companion app, where every race/ride/workout is listed. One has to remember, that every event is setup by Zwift's Event team, whereas anyone can setup a ride/race/league on BKOOL.

Oh I get it now. Back when the BKOOL calendar was used it had events from all of the different groups under the USA it ended up being very cluttered for me but it was nice to see what else was scheduled for any given day. I’m sure they could reactivate it.

I think bkool should start a featured event every few hours every day so if people want to live ride there is always a scheduled one...
@Randyberlin I looked on amazon for that book but couldn't see, I did find another from the same auther I might get stuck into

It was on Amazon over here. I can send it to you if you PM your mailing address.

@Norry1 do you know where else it’s available? Have you read this one yet?
