Its not exactly cheating when most of the time you actually get glue instead of fairy dust. A good example of this is the fact you usually kick my ass these days whereas when we were both on pro's we were far more even. Up hill is different of course as I have a weight advantage. I bet you can't beat you time by using the pro. There's a challenge for you ^_^

You know I've done a few videos showing the difference when going uphill even on smaller sections, where I'm a lot faster on the Pro. On one 1.8-2 km climbing section, I was about 1m30s seconds faster on the Pro. Now do the math on a 12 km all uphill stage. No need to do the Tourmalet again to show that.

The Pro being slow at the start, on slope changes etc. is well known and also easily solvable with a better trainer.

Easily solvable with £1200. That's a lot of money considering most of the original changang group got into it for £400. I notice that I can't get near you on the flat these days but I feel I'm almost back to my fitness of a year ago.

I wasn’t aware that the KICKR Core or Flux 2 (both of them simulatiing 16%) cost £1200 In the UK. In Denmark they are around £650 when not on sale. I expect both of them to be both fast and more in line with reality than the (at least) 8 year old technology used in most of the BKOOL lineup.

I paid around £480 for my Pro back in October 2014, around £650 for my Direto in November 2017 and finally around £960 for the NEO2 spring 2019. A price difference of less than £500 between the Pro and NEO2. Mainly did the last 2 purchases to have more accurate/stable watts in Zwift, were the Pro could be just as much off as seen in BSIM.
For reference I paid £1200 for my first racebike in 2008 and €3600 for the next one in 2016. A price difference of £2400 and no promise of me going any faster.

Why not try one of your fellow CycleChatter‘s NEO(2/2T) in BSIM and see/feel the difference? If the algorithm used in BSIM now requires/favours a better trainer on the flats, it is time to upgrade!

I'm hoping to get a refund for my Copenhagen airfare. In reality I probably wouldn't be ready in May anyway. But with the travel ban It is a good excuse to postpone it. It was only $480 but with the money I'll save by not traveling I should be able to convince my wife I need a new trainer. Over here the Flux is about $750 and Neo about $1200. I save my overtime money for my annual tour but who knows this year what will happen.

Yes, travelling anywhere right now is not the way to stop the spreading! Many European countries are closing their borders for tourists as of this week, which they should have done way earlier.

Those still travelling to Spain and Italy these last two weeks only for their own leisure/vacation should be in quarantine for at least 14 days upon return, if not only to teach them a lesson.

Yes, buy a nice NEO of KICKR and save up for next year, when hopefully things are back to normal around the globe.

It was reported here that you've shut down your boarders to all non Danes.

Yes, and so has Poland, Russia, Norway and probably soon Sweden. Germany has just now closed their borders, so Danish people (and others) can not go to Germany.
Stupid Danes went across the border to do some tax free shopping, when the border was closed yesterday. Their argument was, hey there were less people there than at my local supermarket and thus less risc.
What they forget is, that people in the local supermarket are LOCALS, whereas those going for tax free shopping come from many different cities/areas, effectively helping the spread to some non-infected areas.

SAS (Scandinavian Airline Services) in Denmark sends home 90% of their workforce, and brings the number of destinations down from 100 to 1, and that 1 is a domestic destination.

This kind of “me, myself and I”mentality should be punished, and the same goes for those hoarding all kinds of stuff, when there is no need to!

Good timing on your vacation. CXRAndy is there now and they are under lockdown.

Certainly luckier than most Randy. Took some getting home though. Meant to fly at 20.10. Boarded plane at 20.30. Took off at 23.30 - sat in plane for just short of 3 hours waiting for a ‘slot’. Landed in Glasgow at 3.30-ish. The airport wasn’t ready for us. Almost fell asleep waiting at baggage reclaim. Got hame boot 5.15.

Nice holiday but shame for Spanish and the visitors who just got out there with the lockdoon..
