Real world bike question. When I get out of the saddle I can feel a vibration in the front fork, happened since I had the bike. Anything to worry about? Also how to get small stones /tar off the bike?
Check the headset. Stand beside the bike and apply the front brake as hard as you can. Put you freehand at the top of the head tube, bottom of any spacers and when you push forward check for any movement in the headset. Lots easy to tighten if there is play but depends on the bike. There will definitely be a YouTube video for your bike if there is play.
The tar one is a bugger. Pick the stones off and clean with a degreaser but not to much.
Hope this helps.

I echo what Keith has said about headset.
Just had a quick Google. I have a motorsave which is wilco and saw https://www.wilcodirect.co.uk/produ...-glue-remover-300ml-ho-sapp0139a/HO-SAPP0139A

It's about 5£ I think. May work. When I passed motorsave today I am sure they were open again. Been closed for the last few weeks so maybe trading now.

Didn’t you have a front wheel shake problem on one of your Bikes?
With mine it was fast corners and made worse by wind and deep rims. In the end I couldn't live with those lovely Mavic rims so swapped them for a set of Ultegras. Works good enough now but still the geometry of the bike makes for a very twitchy front end and I still can't keep up with riders going fast downhill as it just doesn't feel safe. It makes a good bike for the turbo though.

I was going to have a go at this tonight. Can't be any worse than going up Mt Etna right?
I've done a real world and my garmin says 30 hours recovery and a gallon of beer. So on garmin advice I won't be there

Sorry guys, I'm just too tired, I was crap on today's ride to do the shopping and the thought of half an hour toiling away up hill on a bike that's not 100% is more than my poor body could stand. Hopefully see you on Tuesday for the handicap on the tandem.
