Nice report, glad you like rgt. Shame the RGT rides clashed with bkool rides as we seem to have had some old members back and new ones also with a decent spread of abilities. The 6 extra bodies would have made a decent number.

Yes, I felt a bit bad about that, but think the short term loss will be compensated for by the long term gain. We'll all be back on Thursday and raring to go. Guess I'd better refresh my memory of the stage. I hope it's not up, there you never thought you'd hear me say that!

Great write up @keithaitch.

I agree with the assessment of RGT. It is a better free version of Zwift. I haven’t been on Zwift for months but it was always too crowded for me.

I only have three subscriptions now. BigringVR, BKOOL and now RGT. My first true smart trainer program from 20 years ago ( UltracoachVR - now netathlon ride run row) had everything that Zwift and RGT offer now and steering but based their model of selling about 15 courses for a one time fee and having the online racing hosted on a game site.

And once again I have to say even with all of its faults Bkool offers the best all around program for me.

Plus if I changed completely I would need new t-shirt, new coffee cup, new towel and new window sticker.

Great report and well done on third place. Since I've taken out the 2 year Black Friday deal and I'm a tight wad I'll be sticking with bkool, but would be willing to experiment with any kind of league on RGT while it stays free. Have done a couple of rides on it and both were better populated than on bkool and I actually had someone of similar ability to race against on one ride.

@Brusgaard and other geeks :tongue:,
My Mrs laptop has started to be super slow on the Internet making work from home almost impossible. Every other device is getting 300mbs apart from the laptop, only started happening recently though and its quite new. Any ideas before I do a factory reset?

Is the laptop slow at everything? Or is it just the internet that is slow?

If it's everything then have any windows updates gone on recently etc.

If it's internet only try a direct cable to the router.

Edit, sorry I see it's internet only. Still try with an ethernet cable. It could be that the WiFi drivers have updated. Try a speed test with the laptop close to the router etc..

Just Internet. It is currently doing an update now so I'll check again after.

Guys,

Here is our report on our experience on Rgt over the last three weeks. It's a long read so get a cup or glass of something...Let the discussion begin, I'll try and field all questions and queries you may have.

Thanks for that Keith - interesting stuff. I’ll watch from a distance. As a not competitive sort, racing around requiring heart stopping effort is not fo4 me however, I am always on the look out for rides of similar ability - it may be that RGT May offer that for someone like me.

The only way around the admin problem in CG is to delete the group/league and start afresh.

Good luck

Jim there are number of social rides, with chit chat, on RGt where groups send somebody back to help anybody that gets dropped from the group back to the pack, and groups form based on people's speed.

Sounds perfect.

Is the “magic roads” still limited to minimum of 6 ride users? Or can they be created for oneself please?

Even in the racing there were all sorts. Yes you have the the 5w/kg guys, but you also had people just doing their own thing.

I was somewhere in the middle, although I had one or two good mountain stages, I had terrible flat stages and an individual time trial that was pure hell for me.

Some social rides being offered

Nice write up Keith. I was fearing war and peace but it tuned out to be nice and succinct! The fact you are looking to move over to rgt lock stick and barrel says it’s made an impression on you.

I struggled with it a bit to be honest. I found it a bit clunky in comparison to zwift. But zwift has enough flaws if it’s own for me to persevere a bit longer and give it a proper go.

Are you guys planning to race this week?
