You have beets? I’ve never tried them but I sense they are the North American equivalent of brusel spouts.

Nothing can be as bad as brusels - as a kid I had to hold my nose to eat them so I couldn’t taste them !

Will see if I can fit a holiday in before the Christmas break !! Hope thanksgiving went well for you all - has missus had you lugging photo kit around lately ?

I’ve been working on her darkroom. In the past it was on a cart wheeled in and out of a bathroom. I think I’ll use some RFP on the counter and back wall.
She has been busy but thankfully mostly local. And she replaced her 35 pound. 8x10 with a new one made by a company in England called intrepid camera. Less than 5 pounds so I may be out of a job.
Her latest work…

@Tommy My sub was £5/month for 3 months, which started on 16 Sept. BKOOL states "Your current renewal price remains the same for the time being. If anything changes, we will let you know in advance." So I expect to hear something either when BKOOL retires on 30/11, or in advance of my subscription ending on 16/12.

UPDATE. Just got an email from Rouvy saying that they will give a 50% discount for 2 months. It would be cheaper to join a group of 4 or 5, and split an annual subscription. I don't know what happens if one wants to pause over the summer. Although with the cost shared, keeping it going would not be too expensive.

At the moment we have myself you and Add. We have one drop out and one weighing his options. I think ideally we have 5 but 4 minimum? so I’m not sure ifs it’s a goer or not to be honest Rod.

Google roasted Beets. Seems like every celebratory meal the world over comes with a caveat.

to be honest I have never tried them but I have a glass of beetroot juice every morning and love pickled beetroot in sandwiches so maybe I would like them ? there is nothing remotely appetising about sprouts ! when I lived at home I had a dilemma - we had sprouts on a Sunday when they were in season ( dad grew loads of the bleeding things ) now if you didn't eat them on a Sunday when you could put them in , one chew and swallow before the taste hit you , you had them served up as bubble and squeak on Mondays what was a true test of character to eat ! so do you eat them all on Sunday so none left for Monday , run the risk of mummy thinking you like them and cooking more ! there were 4 of us kids that had to sit at the table and if you lost concentration for a second , another sprout would appear on your plate !

There is a distinct difference between pickled beetroot and beetroot juice. One is relatively sweet, the other is like drinking water mixed with loose soil.

I’m completely with on sprouts!

This is the first I heard about it. We didn't get a newspaper last Thursday or Friday because of the holiday. So now on the days they don't publish the paper I'll rely on getting my news from Northern England.
This is such s huge state it was 900 miles away in Anchorage.
