Thanks shimano for their tech-docs

I have a Giant SCR 3.0 that I cant afford to replace with a new better spec bike (Cube Pelton Race - told you I was jealous Johnym!) but wanted a better drive-train, then looking at the cube spec - a rare thought came into my head... Mixing components to eventually get to where I want to be.

So I searched for shimano drive-train compatability and up popped a Shimano Techdoc link - BLOOMING BRILLIANT!!!

Now I can slowly upgrade my components to 105 5600 spec without it costing me £500 in one fell swoop.
OK, it'll cost me a bit more over time, however, it's the only options I have without a win on the lottery

Think i'll start with a rear mech - oh happy days...

Am probably offering advice that is not sought, but imho unless existing is worn replacing/upgrading drivetrain generally has limited if any noticeable payback. Better tyres and wheels is generally the best upgrade - and if they are truly great wheels they can be an investment that is good for even the next, better, bike.

All advice is welcome.

I have a pair of Racing7 wheels and two sets of tyres that I use on longer or more technical rides so covered from that perspective.

The brakes on mine are cr*p so def need upgrade for faster runs - ill try that then think over your advice.
