That's it - give me a camera... whatever it costs

nice one- thanks. I suspect part of the problem also lies with the operator! It's not helped by the fact that the little round plastic sticky disc thing you attach the camera to, remains glued to a helmet that I left among some baguettes at an Upper Crust sarnie place at Bristol Station back in July. I'll look into the graphics card thing - thanks.

I use one of these, I put the sticky one in the car on the dash  A lot more secure to be honest. I wouldn't trust the adhesive and the camera is a solid lump - not nice to have coming through your windscreen if it falls off.

Not a problem - any help needed, just ask.

The enemy bought me a go-pro camera for my birthday last year, I don't know why, I didn't want one though I did tell her how clever I thought they were. Anyway I've used it a few times just for fun like, and I have noticed the few times I've had it mounted on my bone dome that vehicles seen to give a wider pass, thought I might be imagining it.

I was using it today and it filmed a driver overtake me on a blind left hand bend into the sun, a really daft maneuver, nothing happened but if there was a car coming the other way it would have been curtains for the driver. I considerded reporting, but I can't really be arsed.

I haven't yet worked out how to upload stuff to the tube of u, the files seem to be to big enough, and I don't know how to compress them.

I think it's a clever bit of kit the enemy being the kind generous gal that she is, bought me all the extra bits to go with, handle bar mount, chest mount, batteries, all the malarkey, but I don't half feel a tit with on the helmet.

I wonder if using them makes the cyclist better behaved?

Edit: I meant to say at around 300 queens for this bit of kit, I think I'd rather wipe me mouth and ride away from any confrontation, I guess having a row with the wrong nasty bastard, he's likely to rip the thing off your head and twat you with it.

Just import it from the camera to your PC, then download something like Windows Live Movie Maker. I use it and it's free, although it takes a while to import once you get it you can cut bits off and compress to your liking although I generally export at 1080p anyway because any less and it looks terrible.

Of course, if you have access to more "upmarket" software, then they are good too ;)

To upload to YouTube, just create a google account, sign in, then click upload. Dead simple.

I am, well I was before I moved house and didn't have the room and the neighbours were old. I played Gretsch tubs, and Sabian AA Metal-X cymbals  You?

And sounds like a plan. Upload is right at the top, just click it then find the file then give it a name. Worth going through the options as well just to have a look.

I need to replace my Contour HD1080P. The record switch is loose, so it randomly stops recording. I've got a bit of electrical tape holding the switch at the moment, but it's not very satisfactory.

I'm probably going to go for the Sony AS15. Looks pretty good.
What I also want though is a very small camera with a bullet form factor which I can mount via a neoprene sleeve onto the arm of my glasses.

I don't wear a helmet, so at the moment my camera is mounted to the bike. That's fine for most things, but sometimes I miss not being able to direct its direction with my head.
