GWS DM, and don't see at as the end of the road, more a wonky Sustrans-style detour. Like many on here I've had some (luckily relatively minor) ticker issues and it certainly doesn't keep me off the bike. Take it easy though until the quacks have spoken.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Hey DM. As everyone else has said. Im so sorry to hear this news. I hope you get yourself sorted out quickly, and that you will be able to get back on your bike again in the near future, even if you only go a few miles or so. Good luck to you and babytiger, and my thoughts will be with you both.:hugs:. And yes, please keep in touch.

Also, remember that heart medicine is one of the most advanced and regularly practised of all medical disciplines. This is partly because it's suffered by a very influential demographic, ie Western middle-aged men - same as most of the heart doctors! So whatever your problem turns out to be, you will be in good hands.

DM, that is how hospitals & GP's work. My elderly mum had bowel problems last month, the GP sent her for a scan, a letter then arrived first class (sent same day as scan) from the top cancer bod asking her to attend her office (Chemotherapy unit) in 4 days time and to ring urgently if she could not make the meeting. Cue 4 days of mayhem as my mum got her affairs in order thinking she had a short time to live. I took her to the meeting, where, she was informed that the scan had found nothing....................

You raised the issue, thus the GP & hospital will react accordingly and conservatively. Don't let your mind race until you know.

My very best wishes to you and, as others have suggested, I trust it won't be the the end of your cycling.
I look forward to hearing some positive news from you soon.
Take care.

All the best DM, I'm sure you'll get sorted out fine. I would imagine cycling will have acted in your favour, and I bet the docs tell you to carry on!

With the "Ring 999 the minute you feel ill" thing, I wonder if that's anything to do with get you monitored ASAP, to try and find out more? My Mum has the odd episode of palpitations, but because it's intermittent she could never reproduce it for the GP or clinic, or even when wearing a monitor for 24 hours. I think eventually they managed to record it when she had a bout of it when she happened to be at the hospital for something else...

Just call me Chris...
Just another offer of my best wishes.
My Dad had an unexpected triple hear bypass last Year and a pacemaker fitted. He wasn't aware he had a heart problem, it actually came to light after I bought him a HRM for his Birthday.
It's amazing what they can do for heart conditions, he's back to full strength already and enjoying life more than ever before.
Try not to worry, they HAVE to take it so seriously due to fear of any liability etc, you'll be OK
