Last ride before a week abroad. So I was looking forward to this ! 4.45am start out the door.….timed perfectly to see me arriving back in Lowestoft just gone sunrise - so as to get one last glimpse of my beautiful home Town sea-front at the very best time of the day…..

Into Norfolk (Gorleston) I headed. Where on the sea-front I found a huge waste bin in the shape of a Ship. Personally I thought it was a load of rubbish……🙄

After some Coastal miles I headed back inland. Briefly stopping at the Village pond at Lound, Suffolk:

Back into (Well: skirting around) Lowestoft, and into and around the Broad. At Oulton Broad !

Upto Pakefield. And its ominous and imposing Water Tower:

And finally all the way down the Seaftont at Lowestoft taking in a gorgeous sunrise….

Lovely relaxed ride. And a mixture of two normal routes combined. Great way to kick off the day. And unless we find bikes for hire on Holiday - the last ride for a wee while ☹️

Up early (for me) to lead the charge into September only to discover @sevenfourate had posted a completed ride 5 mins before I got out of bed ,Well done that man first poster for September 👍👏👏. Anyway I'm up and running with my standard Upton Loop banker ride . Last month was a big mileage month just shy of 900 miles for the month all training for a charity ride on Saturday in aid of my local hospice . An imperial ton circular route around Leicestershire. The distance is not something that concerns me so I'm trying to ride it as fast as I can . Most of my longer rides are solo so I will be trying to find a group to pull me round quicker than a solo effort
Looks like the training payed off , found a nice group of 5 others just after the start and basically we smashed it hard . 100.65 miles in 5hrs 40 mins so 17.8mph with 6045 foot of upness . Finished 2nd group on the road ( not that it's a race but it's a race 😁 ) just beaten by a club group of 8 all on Pinerellos by 3 mins . My fastest imperial ton by some 10 mins and it included my 2nd fastest 50 miler and 2nd fastest 100km

Ye, Gods! I went out on one of my usual qualifying loops to Felixstowe and encountered a really stiff headwind. I joked to myself that 'at this rate, I'll be so worn out, I won't be able to enjoy the tailwind coming back'. Three-quarters of an hour later, I was genuinely wondering if I would even manged to get out as far as I needed, to.
Well, to cap this eventful ride off, on my home road I whizzed along faster than I've ever ridden it. That was fun.
I may have seen other CC's ... ^_^

I was about to get ready to go out and do a 50 km ride yesterday when a pal came round. He tends to go out early to do his rides and then turn up here and distract me from doing mine! This time though, he had been busy in the morning, so he decided to join me in the afternoon. We went out and did 50 km together on a tour of the local hills (1,000+ m of ascent), then I went off and did another 6 km to pick what will probably be my last wild blackberries of this year. (There are lots left, but they are getting soft now and falling apart.)

It started off wet here today but then there was a long enough dry spell to get another 50 km ride in. This one was still lumpy, but with only half the climbing of yesterday.

Just back in from my 2nd 50km of the month . For the last 3 months I been using the 50km rides as training rides for last Saturday's big ride which meant going hard and for most of that time the rides have been sub 2hrs ,today I hit the pootle button and did 2hr 5min and the difference in effort for those 5 to 10 mins is very noticeable a d I very much enjoyed the relaxed pace
