Metric bit done :okay: Just need a 50 miler to complete my challenge.
Well done.

Doing at least one of each sounds like an interesting variation, though the 50 milers are each only 45-60 minutes short of metric centuries... March to November it would be tempting to add the extra, but less so in the winter!

That’s me done! I headed off for a 100 km, contemplated a 50 mile but had to make do with 66 km before the rain set in hard again. I’ll try and get a 50 mile done for this challenge later n the month but at least the 50 km is in the bank. I’m sorry @13 rider that this 66 km has left me on 66 points in this challenge and 99 points overall, don’t worry I will get out again soon!

A short weather window has opened up in the middle of next week: Wed/Thurs

Pressure climbs before falling back again on Friday. Perhaps a bit of morning fog to contend with - but it should be dry and not windy.

Don't know if that fits with your work commitments @sevenfourate ?

Thankyou for this !

I’m stupendously busy up until finishing for Christmas on the 23rd. So no chance of a 1/2 day / late start etc. But may well get in a silly early ride on Wed or Thurs to get the job done - especially with this weekend being a washout…...

If conditions over the Holidays play ball. I can hopefully then add to my tally at my own leisure, at my own pace 😁

Brilliant stuff Bazzer ! (Forum software won’t let me tag you in) šŸ‘ŒšŸ’Ŗ
It will if you type it in yourself rather than using the pop-up list, which has been unreliable for months...

... @Bazzer!

That’s me over the line for 2025 with my December qualifier done today. A cold (4C) and foggy start … the sun gradually burned off the fog and it turned into a pleasant afternoon. A leisurely pootle down to the Oust valley – mostly on the V3 Voie Verte with a brief section on the Nantes-to-Brest canal – then back to the van in Mauron.

Pleased I did the ride today as rain arrives this evening and is forecast to hang around until at least 16th December. Considering it rained almost every day in November, it’s turned into a very wet autumn/start of winter. Good news for water levels in the local reservoirs, if not for doing long bike rides.

Some photos from the ride:

A menhir (standing stone) on the east bank of the Oust, south of le Roc St-AndrĆ©. Never seen it before (not sure why other than I normally do this section north to south) – will check the map later and see if I can get closer to it next time.

Wonder if that's one of Obelix's menhirs

Finally over the line, a blooming windy 50 K with 750 metres of upness around the West Pennine Moors, mainly blue skies and cracking views over the Lancashire plain. Bacon and egg roll in Rivington Barn, with added aroma of many wet dogs..

Might squeeze another ride before the New Year, if my very busy social life allows.

If not see you all in January, :okay:

I remember coming outside here numerous weekends last December to a frosty ā€˜Whiteout’ on paths and roads and being unable to safely ride. I’m also possibly working the whole weekend of the 20th and 21st.

So needed to do something slightly radical to assure myself a sweat-free Xmas lunch ā€˜worrying’ when I might see the finishing line. …..

I’m not the fastest, most serious or scratched the surface of some people’s efforts. But I’ve really enjoyed this Challenge. And the riding it’s pushed me to doing.

You never regret an early ride. But often regret hitting the snooze button is the saying I believe….šŸ˜‰
