The 2026 Half Century (50km or 50 mile) a month challenge chatzone

A hot and sweaty day today riding the Cinder Track from Scalby to Hawsker I punctured with less than 1 mile to the cars and after a couple of failed pump ups I decided to walk back.
My Wahoo said 31.0 including the walk. I can hear @13 rider screaming from here😂😂😂
The plan was to fix it and do a mile when I got home. Unfortunately it was peeing down when I got home plus someone stupidly left the Wahoo running for the ride home.

A seriously Social Sunday. With much chat - and not much actual peddling 🤣

Thankfully cooler than yesterday’s BRUTAL heat here. And at this pace; literally no sweating involved. Which is just as well - as i noticed shortly after leaving home my drinks bottle was still in the fridge 🤦‍♂️

Today wasn't going to be a 50 but the stars aligned and a very nice ride occured, in glorious weather too ...

Headed NE from Bristol to see my Dad in Chipping Sodbury before climbing up onto the Cotswold Escarpment.
Nice descent back thru Codrington & Pucklechurch before heading east to Warmley to complete my 50 ... 👍

Downtube bottle is water. And was given to me by another rider who’d brought 3 (?) with him today 👍

I'm currently on my holidays in Cornwall so I have no data connection to my low tech paper tick list back at home so this month's last weekend warning and nudge list could contain a few inaccuracies. All roads I’ve ridden - but again: not in this order to form a 50km. Humid start even at 3.45 too 🔥

Up the Coast / heading North to Gorleston first thing:

Then a long loop inland. Back past my own house - and onto Oulton Broad:

The Rolling Hills of Suffolk 🤣🤣🤣

And finishing - as I often do - with a jaunt down Lowestofts Promenade:

That done - I’ve got the day to myself 👌

Dynamo ‘Training’ - means I’ve got 1/2 the total points I got last year - in this June alone.

And one of those was this Morning. Must be my 100th Sunrise of the year I shouldn’t wonder…….

Another June ride for me.

Headed out to the Severn estuary via the new Brabazon link road and passing thru' Easter Compton to Severn Beach, my usual café Shirley's was closed so stopped at the local bakery for a lovely Apple & Almond slice 😋.
Then cycled along the riverside between the two Severn crossings to Aust.
Quiet lanes led me thru Alveston then a route I hadn't ridden in years thru Itchington & Iron Action.

Very nice morning ride & within 15 minutes of getting home the rain started !

Early train to Preston to meet up with the Fridays on their Carlisle to Cardiff tour, rode with them as far as Parbold then said my goodbyes and rode home via Parbold Hill and Haigh two tough climbs in the sun and wind.

You know who in Preston Market and the view from the top of Parbold Hill
