The weather's OK. I an get out for the first time since December 29th!!!!!! Rock 'n' roll :okay::okay:
I hope you enjoyed it!

I would have got a decent ride in today but I have my sister and nephew here. We will take their dog for a nice walk instead. If they are feeling energetic we will climb up to one hilly section of my forum ride route. If not we might just do some of the Rochdale Canal towpath instead.

Well, feck it!!! First chance to ride for three weeks. First ride of 2026.

½ mile ridden and the BB seizes. Not a little bit. A BIG bit. All fixed and we go again Monday.

My Kinesis wasn't prepped so I couldn't nip back and grab that. The club ride would have left by the time I got to the meet point.

☹️☹️☹️

Set off with a rough route planned; to get me coming home with a tail wind. Soon realised the forecast must have changed - and that wasn’t going to happen. To be fair I dreamed of riding past Palm trees in pleasant 22c conditions and that didn’t happen either 😂

Up the Coast I headed in the thick mist. This is Gorleston sea-front 8 miles up the road:

This is further along at Gorleston Pier. The irony here being my company built both the spiral staircase in the picture; and in more recent times the access ramp and hand railing my bike leans against….

Under and around rather than over the new bridge at Gt Yarmouth today. Made a nice shot I think !

Crazy-golf further along the sea front at Gt Yarmouth had no queue to get in 🤣

And this was dawn breaking at the tip of Yarmouth / Caister. Shortly before I got my head down and pedalled home inland….

Hard work today for some reason. Overdressed more than anything I think 🤷‍♂️ Still nice to be out in the fresh air 👍

Finally got my 2026 challenge going. After sickness, snow and rain, I finally have a Sunday good enough to ride. 🥶🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏻‍♂️

Well done ! Not sure about where you are: but not pleasant here in Costa Del Suffolk today. All a bit of a struggle riding today if I’m honest. So any ride over the line is a good one 👌

@13 rider I finally managed to get a ride. I need some clarity on points etc. This was a 65 mile, 105km ride.

Technically it qualifies for both 50m and 100km challenges. Can I count it towards both?

How many points does one score for a 100km ride?

Yes saw your post good on you going for both . Basically the 100km challenge dosnt do points so what I do is have 2 totals ,1 for this challenge ,and 1 for points in all challenges see the bottom of my Jan 1st post , yes a 100km is 3 points .So like me you have 1 point in this challenge ( I think ) and 4 points in all challenges. I don't post rides in 2 challenges so I post just 1 ride per month in the century challenges and any extra ones go in this challenge

Ignore much of the last post lol , I thought you'd already got a half century ride in . There are no rules to say you can't post a ride in multiple challenges but I don't that's just me I believe each challenge deserves a separate ride otherwise someone completing the 100 mile challenge automatically completes the shorter challenges . I've no objections if you cross post

It's not just you @13 rider - there are a few of us on here who don't cross-post.

These are separate challenges and require separate rides.

I would object quite loudly if anyone posted one distance ride in two distance challenges

I hope @PaulSB doesn't do that

I think that’s my interpretation as well. I have decided over the last couple of years to post just one ride in the 100 km and all the others of whatever length (and all points) in the 50 to make it easier for me to keep a log. I personally am aiming for three challenge rides a month, a 100 km, a 50 mile and a 50 km. So far this month I’ve done a 100, two 50 km and will try and squeeze a 50 mile if the weather allows.

I do not wish to stir up a heated debate about this, but I'm quite happy with people posting a ride in two (or more) challenges - I just don't see any problem. I would say it's a case of whatever someone feels comfortable with. Besides, I love maths and I really like Venn Diagrams.
