@13 rider I finally managed to get a ride. I need some clarity on points etc. This was a 65 mile, 105km ride.

Technically it qualifies for both 50m and 100km challenges. Can I count it towards both?

How many points does one score for a 100km ride?
Ignore much of the last post lol , I thought you'd already got a half century ride in . There are no rules to say you can't post a ride in multiple challenges but I don't that's just me I believe each challenge deserves a separate ride otherwise someone completing the 100 mile challenge automatically completes the shorter challenges . I've no objections if you cross post

It's not just you @13 rider - there are a few of us on here who don't cross-post.

These are separate challenges and require separate rides.

I would object quite loudly if anyone posted one distance ride in two distance challenges

I hope @PaulSB doesn't do that

I think that’s my interpretation as well. I have decided over the last couple of years to post just one ride in the 100 km and all the others of whatever length (and all points) in the 50 to make it easier for me to keep a log. I personally am aiming for three challenge rides a month, a 100 km, a 50 mile and a 50 km. So far this month I’ve done a 100, two 50 km and will try and squeeze a 50 mile if the weather allows.

I do not wish to stir up a heated debate about this, but I'm quite happy with people posting a ride in two (or more) challenges - I just don't see any problem. I would say it's a case of whatever someone feels comfortable with. Besides, I love maths and I really like Venn Diagrams.

Me neither ! You know - if I ever completed a 100 mile or 100km ride I’d want the whole World to know and I’d be posting everywhere 😁 If the longer ride gets you multiple points across multiple Challenge’s: well deserved I say ! *YMMV

I certainly post all my rides in this challenge in order to keep track of my points, but on the rare occasion where the first ride of a month happens to be a 100km+ ride (and assuming I'm in the Metric Century challenge, which is probably only every third year!), then while I'll still claim my 3 points, I will state that it doesn't count as my Half Century qualifying ride - I'll wait until I've actually done a 50km+ ride to do that.

All of which has definitely caused some confusion for @13 rider and his highly technologically advanced ride monitoring system in the past!

Chilly and windy one today and just managed to get home as the first drops of rain came down...followed by lots more since😁

Re double posting a ride....I don't really care either way but it seems logical to me that each challenge requires it's own ride.

I'm surprised and happy to report that I managed 50km yesterday, my first ride outdoors since my crash in August.

I had been doing a couple of turbo sessions a week but never more than an hour at a time, usually less. So I wasn't expecting to last for the 2 hours + it takes me to ride 50km.

But I felt OK and kept going!

I still have some problems but am hoping careful management will allow me to complete at least one qualifying ride per month.

PS. I'll have to post my Strava later, tech problems possibly because my Garmin hasn't been used for 4 months.

Sunday Jan 25th was number 1 daughter's 46th birthday, suddenly feeling very old
Family Celebrations mid afternoon so out early to visit a new (to me) cafe in Westhoughton. Hive Bakehouse, Very good coffee and very good croissant
Managed to get another point on a cold windy morning. Back in time to shower and change before venturing over the Pennines to "The Dark Side" for birthday cake

So I couldn't get out on Saturday, about the only free day I would have had in Jan so far where the weather hasn't been atrocious.

If @ColinJ's forum ride doesn't happen on Saturday I'll have to wrap up and force myself out, maybe go visit my mum, usually a 29 mile round trip but take more a roundabout route. Either that or sack the challenge off again for another year.
