Slightly different early Morning route today. Before an all-day Meeting šŸ™„

And it was absolutely lovely - I stopped and wished I had time to ride some more. But: What a way to start the day šŸ˜

4.30am start saw me circumnavigate some of the very top of Lowestoft and arrive on the Broads pre 5am…..

Then around some serious backlanes - where my bars were literally scraping the bushes either side šŸ˜‚ and onto Beccles. Where I stopped on a footbridge over the River Waveney for this snap:

By then the sun was well over the Horizon. This is near Hulver, Suffolk;

Just added some May rides to the challenge and realised one was 49.91 miles 😃. I was riding in kilometres and thought 80 was enough.....

Yes I did noticed and I'm disappointed ā˜¹ļø.just finished my last ride in France which the organisers had made 60 miles 😮😮, showing full commitment to the thread I rode up a hill and back to get to 100km despite a 360 mile ,35000ft week

The stars aligned this morning ...

- day off
- sun shining
- wife working
- children at school

Great 50 kms ride up onto the Cotswold Escarpment riding thru the villages of Badminton & Hawkesbury Upton before dropping down and riding back via Horton & Yate [ for a refreshment in the 'Spoons ].

Up the Coast to California (Cliffs) 🤣

Only done this route once before. And last time was in the Frost in Mid-Winter 😳 So just a shade more pleasant today…..

Old School postbox still - with Topper: in Hopton-on-Sea, Norfolk

@13 rider
With unusual foresight I got out on Saturday morning, before it got stupidly hot this weekend.
A new route following Spen Valley Greenway and Calder Valley Greenway. A bit of a detour through Dewsbury back alleys necessitated due to closure of the route on one point for the Transpennine upgrade.

Details to follow

As the long-term participants to this challenge may remember, I have tried to make it a point of mine to snaffle at least one point by getting up at a silly hour in the summer and greet the sun. Today was that day. And I don't think I've ever done one such ride so early in a year. (I don't think I've ever had a nudge from @13 rider either, but that's another story. ^_^ )

As always for these early rides - Lockdown levels of traffic, abundant wildlife and too many great views to stop and take photos of them all. Wonderful stuff. I now intend to put my feet up for the rest of the day.

Here's a pic out near Bucklesham.

Never under-estimate the Suffolk Massive.

For someone who limped (?) to 18 points last (Also my first) year…..including a flourish at the end: to have 13 points by May has meant some effort amongst a very busy home life. And long-hour’d work life. I have truly enjoyed every ride though. And there’s no doubt this challenge has successfully encouraged me to ride waaaaaaay more than I would have otherwise. Alright, alright I’m starting to sound like a soppy, soft-lad now. Not the 6’3 / 16st hunk of muscular šŸ™„ Grant Mitchell’s long lost Cousin that I could be mistaken for…….

So. An early start. There’s a surprise 🤣

And arriving at the Norfolk / Suffolk Border and the River Waveney:

Into Beccles at about the furthest point from home of this ride. And another River based picture:

And stopping for one more view of the now rapidly rising Sun between Beccles and home…..
