Puzzle game procrastinator!
Strava time 46 mins but I did stop for a couple of mins . Power average 215w that's a tad over 3w/kg . It's the hardest climb I've ever done .If I had lower gears I may had be able to spin up more but my 36/34 had me standing up on the steep ramps
Ouch!

It would probably take me over an hour then. I haven't checked for a while but last time I was only at about 2.5 W/kg.

55.55 miles in the Sun with friends - to celebrate 55 clicks around the Sun: and on my actual Birthday 🎉🎂🎁

Gorgeous day. Perfect temps. Only blighted by one dropping out 1/2 way with stomach cramps 😳 And it being headwind all the way home……

Very slow / relaxed day for me. Amazing with all these ‘youngsters’ riding: i’m the oldest, on the heaviest bike - and seemingly the fittest by some margin 🤷‍♂️ The pace was everything some guys can manage. That aside: it’s just really good to get a Group of friends riding together……. 👊

Nice Morning all in all 😁

Volunteered to marshall at my cycling clubs Hill Climb this morning, cycled out from Bristol to Wotton Under Edge via Coalpit Heath & Kingswood to the HQ at The Star Pub in Wotton.
A good field of 35 riders had entered inc. the best HC 'er in the country, Andrew Feather also riding was GCN 's Ollie.
I left the pub to take up my marshalling position on the junction of Old London Rd. & Rushmire Hill.
Some very good performances but nobody could match Feather who literally flew up the hill in under 5 minutes ... 😳
Which was a new course record !
Coffee & cake for me back at the pub before the ride back via Charfield & Iron Acton.

You've under-stated your kms in the challenge thread - I reckon it's about 88km??

Right !

It’s 89.4km.

Looks like I’ve hit a zero when typing instead of a 9.

Well spotted 🙏

A few old men have done the Bay Cycle Way a few times, easy for me to arrange due to my caravan in Grange. "Shall we do it the other way this time"? said Alan.
Hells bells, not sure if it was the strong gusty wind and showers or the difference in the steepness of the climbs or a combination of all of the above but day two was a slog. The climb up from Greenodd was a real struggle, just before the summit my HR went over 180 so I walked the last 50 metres or so. I have done this ride many times the "normal" way and only really struggled on the climb up Bigland. We all agreed it was a lot tougher the "wrong" way.

Becoming my favourite route this. I can do approx 18 miles ‘inland’ - that I quite enjoy / is scenic etc, before arriving at the Coast in Caister (The other side of Gt Yarmouth from me); giving me a 13 mile run home right along the Coast. My favourite riding beside the sea. And here’s the pics to prove it 😁

Furthest point of my ride at Caister:

One of the Lifeboats was out of the water and presumably bring worked on 🤷‍♂️

Great to get out in short sleeves / shorts and not be cold for a single second still 👌

(Although technically this ride was in Norfolk and is my sub-challenge Ride Outside Suffolk for September)
September 1st, Diss, Thelnetham, Hopton, Knettishall, Rushford, Euston, Banham, Thetford, Brettenham, Bridgham, East Harling, North & South Lopham, Bressingham & Diss, 70.7km, https://www.strava.com/activities/19989721341
Slight error with this one - I was looking at a map for something else the other day and it turns out that the outward leg to Thetford was actually in Suffolk, albeit by a few hundred yards for most of it being south of the Rivers Thet & Little Ouse which essentially form the county boundary.

To make up for this, I took the train out to Brandon where the station is about 100 yards into Norfolk and rode back across county to Norwich for a valid Ride Outside Suffolk

I'm quite enjoying reading about everyone's exploits in this challenge, but it is making me feel a bit inadequate. I'm not riding as much this year, but just concentrating on finding new places to ride so as to keep it interesting. Didn't want to be that guy who does the bare minimum 12 qualifying rides, but it might end up not being many more than that. Nearly 66 years old now and still weighing over 300lbs, so making sure I don't overdo things. Still averaging about 25 miles per ride so far this year, which is about my long term average and just seems to suit me these days. This challenge does keep me going though, when I am tempted to give in to the weather. A great motivator as always.

What I am trying to do is mix up my qualifying rides so I'm not simply repeating the same old Severnside routes like the first four I posted this year and just riding for the sake of it. My last few rides that I've posted have included a hillier local ride up the Cotswold edge as well as ones in Northamptonshire, Caernarfonshire, Wiltshire and Belgium/Luxembourg. I'm hoping to add another in Dumfries & Galloway soon. For a couple of years now I have been musing on the theme of posting rides in a different county or country every month for a calendar year, and while I won't have managed that this year, I am tempted to give it a go next year by coming up with a real mixed bag. Might help me really get my mojo back. Looking back on these qualifying rides, I'm certainly tempted:
