I really don't feel the need to go into too much detail on here with people I wouldn't pass the time of day with otherwise, however I would like to point out that I am approaching 50 and until 11 months ago I had never been out of work. I chose to live where I am because it was near to the job I did for 19 years. Unfortunately, ill health got the better of me and I could no longer do that job. I made changes and took up other forms of employment. Not as high stress or well paid; but work and a wage never the less. Since being made redundant last April, there hasn't been much happening on the work front.

So please, PLEASE, DO NOT come on here and preach to me about how well off you are through hard work; and that I should somehow share your wish of higher fuel prices which are preventing me from considering work outwith 25 miles from home. I keep saying it, but everyones circumstances are different. I find myself in the position I am in NOT through choice, but through ill health, and your comments are not appreciated. Did I mention "smug"?
did I mention "I could care less?"

Don't we as cyclists use the roads, signs, traffic lights etc etc................and some of us (not me) don't pay road tax.
If you pay tax, you're paying for roads. Roads are financed from general taxation. If you own a car your paying for the priviledge of using it via VED.

I find that particularly offensive and personal considering the post you were replying to, and it has nothing whatsoever to do with the topic being discussed.
GC you are a smug, arrogant, argumentative waste of space and I hope your "luck" doesn't also run out one day. Troll all you like from now on; you are the first person on any forum I have ever put on my ignore list. Pratt.

Mate, though you ain't reading this, (&col) hope your tolerance for people who don't agree with you in real life runs a lot deeper than this. You own your own feelings. I don't. if the best argument you can muster when challenged is this, well...

sorry, but, again, petrol has been taxed for donkey's years. When I lived out in the sticks I had no option but to wait for the bus (four a day, but only three on Wednesdays and none on Sundays) or ride the bike until my then wife bought a fifteen year old Mini. I moved from a city knowing what the score was, and I certainly didn't complain about it.

Tolerance has nothing to do with it. If you cant take people pointing out how your coming across, because your overdoing it, well.....
