That your coming across like an unpleasant pratt.
and your point is? I'm an unpleasant pratt because i don't agree with you? trust me, the only thing we have in common is that we own and rides bikes.

(though in real life we might get on)

Tolerance has nothing to do with it. If you cant take people pointing out how your coming across, because your overdoing it, well.....
dish it out. I have broad shoulders, and have a empty ignore list. and am well aware that my opinions are not popular.

Dissagree all you want, but what your doing seems purposely unpleasant, and designed to wind up.If you did this in real life, I think most would avoid you.

If it was just unpopular that would be fine. But the way your doing it is massively different to just that.

Putting up the cost of fuel doesnt only affect motorists. Virtually every single item you ever purchased travelled in a motor vehicle on its way to the shop. Fuel price hikes push up the price of everything you spend your money on, even bikes.

yeah I'm a sad and lonely bloke. no friends. at all.

if people get 'wound up' that's down to them not me. I don't own how folk respond to stuff in life. they do.

Based on this logic I should agree with lame, weak, badly thought arguments (personal attacks aside) in case people get upset? diddums.

This is a good example, I see your point, but the way you push it is not good.

to a degree. But consider that all taxation is, in a kind of way, redistributive. Taxing petrol redistributes wealth from those who buy stuff from afar, and away from those who drive, particularly those who drive large cars. I'll happily pay the fuel tax that is 'hidden' within the price of a bottle of prosecco (and the duty on the alcohol) because the money has to come from somewhere, and it might as well come from stuff that pollutes and congests

I (part) own a car. I'm not whining like a spoilt child about petrol prices. I'm asking for them to be increased. at which point your argument collapses in a heap of burnt hydro=carbons.

What, for everyone or would you exclude commercial/industrial transportation?

That may be a fair cop. but I'm not sure it is a level playing field/two way street. are we obliged to play fair in here during 'robust' discussion on which folk disagree strongly? after all if folk (not you) dole out insults and then claim special privilege due to their circumstances, well, we've all got a story...

The thread is about (private) drivers/motorists not hauliers/commercial carriers, and my comments are from the perspective of one who lives in SE England. As far as carriers are concerned I'm with subaqua.
