If I was batting, I'd make sure the game was won before tea, then I could eat all the good sandwiches and the best cakes without having to worry about going out to finish the game on a full stomach.. ^_^

better to have taken tea - then won - all them there interviews to do

So where are all the doom mongers and nay sayers that popped up here after the 2nd test?

Get behind the team

I think the components of a very good team are coming together - however, it still needs some tweaks or the present incumbents to grow into their roles - done very well so far - much better than I expected in this series - bodes well for the next proper series in South Africa - and maybe gives hope that in the UAE they can overcome the conditions that seem to bring out the worst in them.

I think it is game on for England - only got to win one out of two tests for the series -

Correct. Whilst England will miss Anderson as the ball tends to swing at Trent Bridge I am heartened by Finn's performance. I just wish Lyth could get a big innings under his belt. It feels like he's running very low on confidence and it puts pressure on 3 and 4. I've got a sneaky feeling that England will win at least one of the next two tests

It is Thursday it is Trent Bridge it is the Fourth Test – England lead the series two matches to one – no draws

Australia Sean Marsh in for Mitchell Marsh – a batter for a bowler – increases the depth of the batting but Australia may be a bit short if England bat long – Wood comes in for Anderson for England – Lyth needs some runs Bairstow and Stokes (both unlucky to have faced the only exceptional over that Johnson bowled in the last test) - I hope have been practising what they are going to do against the fast short ball

England win the toss and have chosen to bowl – game on – pitch seems to be a little green and it is overcast - no idea how it is going to go following the up and down results so far – have been pleasantly surprised by how competitive England have been in the matches they have won – totally dismayed by their performance in the match they lost – given Australia’s place in world cricket as the number two side and their recent record the scale of their two losses is surprising – Lords their bowlers were able to extract something special from a dead pitch, their batsmen untroubled by England but were all at sea in the other two matches.

England bowling better on the pitches at Cardiff and Edgbaston where it seamed and swinged a bit? Australia flat track bullies and unable to deal with the Duke Ball in English conditions? Nevertheless you would expect at least one of the three matches to have been a bit tighter!

Whatever, England win this one and the Series is won

I'd feel more confident if Jimmy was playing but sooner or later he's going to call it a day so a chance for the rest to man up.
Broad is looking better but it would be nice to see Wood take a 4-for at least.

Broad has bowled very well in all the games without much luck - hopefully this match will be where he gets his rewards - Wood has performed well but is not the finished article (1 for 131 at Lords and 4 for 119 at Cardiff Av of 50/w SR of 86) - however will probably open - I would like to see Finn with the new ball - he has earned it - but needs to keep it going
