Yebbut, they can't all pad-up at once, but unlike us at school cricket matches, they've probably got all their own kit - remember the pink box?

And the ferrets have to wait until the rabbits have come and gone.

Right, about to leave and ride past the stadium again. As I turned the corner yesterday, there came an almighty stadium cheer. Don't know why, but the place was jumping.

See what happens this time.

If you get another one tonight, can you go around the block and try again? Then repeat another 3 times.

Blimey! Can't recall a days 1&2 like it. Fantastic. What an Ashes this is turning out to be.

Friend said yesterday's destruction of the Ockers brought to mind "Bert Ironmonger, an Aussie who played in the 1930s and was famed as an awful batsman. On one occasion his wife called the dressing room and was told that Bert had just gone out to bat. “I’ll hold,” she replied."

Aussies 168-7 England lead by 23

11am England 142 for 3 – Johnson starts his first over of the morning – two amazing and violent deliveries to remove Bairstow and Stokes and it is 142 for 5 – “Here we go again” but Root and Butler put on another 40 something runs before they both go – Root for a good 63 before heaving at one from Starc and Butler for a careful but scratchy 9 – Ali 59 and Broad 31 tho put on 87 to heave the score up to a respectable 280ish – Moeen playing his luck as normal – Broad playing circumspectly - good to see that he has some confidence back – and you cannot ask more of a man than he is voluntarily running to the end where he has to face Johnson – a lead of 145.

Rogers and Warner are fairly comfortable at the crease with Anderson swinging the ball both ways – Broad tho removes Rogers 6 but Warner is playing beautifully and scoring relatively freely. Finn tho replaces Broad and takes out Smith 8 and Clarke 3 in consecutive balls followed not long afterwards by Voges - Marsh 6 gets one from Finn that takes out his stumps before Anderson finally gets Warner 77 who has looked untroubled by everything going on around him – Finn gets his five-for by removing Johnson – Nevill and Starc hold out for the close with the Aussies 23 ahead. A wicked days test cricket made all the better because England are on top.

A brilliant return by Finn - bowling a good line and with pace when he wants to - when he is on song he is a step above all the other first change bowlers England have - highlights tho Englands selection policy - only in the team by virtue of Wood being injured/undercooked

The downside is Andersons injury – If he is out for the remainder of the series it could affect the overall result.

Three wickets left to take this morning and hopefully not too many runs to knock off – It is not a done deal tho – despite the 5-0 drubbings the Aussies have not really paid England back for Headingly ‘81 ^_^
