6 bikes from cr&p to excellent.
Cr&p for shopping (if nicked - do I care?)
Excellent for nice long dry summer rides (no mudguards)
And variations for other things like winter hack, reasonable audax type, track and Mtb.

So - average £530

£ 600 for the pub bike ? Al, isn't that missing the point of what a pub bike is about ?

My pub bike is a free mtb that I was given and so far I have spent £ 2.47 on it

that's what happens when you get a frame and then buy all new parts, wheelset based on £40 rims etc:blush:

When I'd finished I realsied I'd have been better off buying a whole bike cheap. Kind of a stupid mistake, fortunately the frame looks a bit crummy and a 3 speed hub isn't popular with the thieves. So far it's done ok outside shops etc.

60s English roadster, 80s folder, two 70s tourers (one low end, one mid range) and a 00s hybrid.

The average price paid is just over £50, but there's probably another £50-100 per bike for upgrades, racks, lights etc

Average price

1 at £229 and 1 at £82 = a grand average of £155 !

Both low tech commuter specials (subway 1 , tdf 02 ) and every time i go near a bike shop i have face against glass. When my debts form 18 months of short time are cleared then maybe a nice bike but until then silly things like food are more important....

We could keep a running total in this thread - i.e. add the total value of your bikes to the current total and post it as the new total, etc.

So with mike.pembo, we hav £54000 + 450

=> New running total of £54450

Recumbent tourer about 3,500 and upright tourer around 1,500 which gives an average of 2,500 quid. It looks like a ridiculously excessive amount of money when you work it out like that!

Three "new" bikes (under 9 months old) so I'll include them at replacement cost giving an average of £650 without accessories.

Three "old" bikes (over 20 years old) so I'll ignore them as I'd swap them for the fluff down the back of your settee.

Yeah but no but. Bikes depreciate terribly. I have a bike that cost me 2500 quid, 1 year ago. But would I get anything like that if I sold it? No. I'd struggle to get a 1k..

8 bikes. Resale value = 2020
Average = 252.50
