Just started my bass journey properly after getting a Fender Precision Bass II for a big birthday from SWMBO (she actually tried to persuade me to go for a Music Man Stingray, but even I balked at the price tag).

Anyway, been practising using Bassbuzz and have been playing a couple of songs using Songsterr. First 'gig' yesterday.....last day of school and music teacher lent me a bass and amp to play with in my room - which was full of kids playing games. So I managed a few passable renditions of Mr Blue Sky and Bad Moon Rising, with a small audience. I was joined by one of my colleagues and managed to impress her :-) Upshot is that music teacher wants to start a staff band next term....almost looking forward to going back after the hols

Another one I've been learning is Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter, an interesting study as the opening riff has a lot of Hendrix style thumb over the top technique, Mike McReady is another unsung player who is bl**dy good.

Well done. You'll be playing the bass part to YYZ before you know it, not to mention naming your kids and pets after bassists.

Kids are 27 and 22 respectively. Would need someone of your stature to help force them to the post office to fill in the deed poll to change names.
