@pawl I was in the shop yesterday and asked John about Cliffs bike, it is a 3spd SA ultraclose freewheel type. Apparently he was one of the test riders for this type of hub for Raleigh/SA
The bike is now restored (to museum spec) and will be going soon after hanging up in the shop for over 6 years but was one of 2 that were loaned to Lincoln Cycle Museum and only this one returned in a bit of a state (parts missing and mismatched wheels) as the 2 were identical apart from one being fitted with tubs and the other running normal 27inch wheels with 7/8 tyres so no-one is sure if this is the 'race' bike or the 'training' bike.
