cycling: big bob track pump (£25 about 10 years ago; my first ever on-line purchase, from Harry Hall)

non-cycling: airport express; streaming music from itunes to old hifi equipment amazes me every time...

what's the best thing you've bought since?

Apart from a toaster and a can of baked beans.

The two best things have been my bike (or bikes) and have been riding these for more than a few decades and my Kjell Johansson TT bat, also bought a long time ago and still in regular use.

Cycling - ask me tomorrow

Clothing - low alpine down jacket. Ain't no days cold enough in this country to test it

Other - my wife bargain wedding ring. She somehow found a brand new wedding ring for £175 on fleabay with Ernest Jones receipt showing £1200 and serial number less than a month before she bought it.

I'm sitting crunching numbers to see what bike I'm getting. I have 3 bikes in mind, all of which I'd be happy with but it's a case of ally105, carbon/composite tiagra or carbon 105
